So, for anyone who saw it, did anyone else think a load of major plot points just got hastily explained away? I was actually kinda disappointed with this episode. :-/

Eh, I already knew two of them ^_^. But yeak, they certainly shouldn't have given quite so much away in the episode. One of them I wish I didn't know.

Oh and did you notice 'Captain Subtext' near the end?

Other than those annoyances though, I thought the episode itself was pretty good.

Oh yea, being a Doctor Who episode it was still good. I just wish it hadn't been "So yea this happened and now such and such is this and that and oh look another thing!" and so on. :P Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really, REALLY hope they don't split it up for half the year next time though. That didn't keep me interested, it just annoyed the hell outta me.

Yeah, me too. What's the point of breaking up a series when it's already halfway through? I don't get it :/

It happens a lot with American TV shows, which is marginally better for them I imagine as they have 23 odd episodes a series, not 13.

Hm, well, I probably wouldn't mind so much if there were that many episodes, frankly stopping at 7 is ridiculous.

I went on a search and found some really, old Dr Who episodes at one point. Some of them took up to 11 episodes to get the whole way through one story arc.

And it was quite interesting to see that the writers haven't forgotten the dry sarcasm from so early on.

I did. It didn't particularly grab me to be honest. I dunno, it had some cool ideas but the execution of it seemed a bit... dull. It's weird, and a bit hard to explain. At the risk of sounding like a grumpy so and so, I'm not too optimistic about the rest of the series. :-/

No, you don't sound like a grumpy so and so at all :P. I actually know what you mean XD.
I'll be honest usually Dr Who takes me by surprise in some epic way, but not this one. Well, the dad's reaction did, but nothing else.

I dunno, the first half of the series was good, I'll give it some more chances I think ;)

Oh I'll keep watching for sure, but I may die a little inside if it keeps going down this route of being "okay". My brain might be able to accept it if it just plain sucked, but it doesn't, it still has the potential to be great again.

Then again they could throw Daleks at me and I'd clap like a dumb seal and be happy! XD What can I say, I love them. Even the new power ranger Daleks. :P

Sacrilege! Bring back the old cool Daleks-or the metallic ones at least.

The power ranger pepperpots made me 'O_o'... besides, Daleks shouldn't be... orange...

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't like them, but I still love the Daleks as a villain. They still act the same, and that's fine by me. I can get past the aesthetics... just.

Gold mini tank Daleks forever!

So Christmas Doctor Who. Gonna be honest, the whole thing was a bit meh for me. Apart from the end, which I can't go into because it's a bit of a big spoiler.

I didn't like it though. To put it mildly. :P
