Hey um, guys, is it possible I can get some advice from you? I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.
See, recently (I'd say within the past two weeks) I've noticed that when I vigorously scratch or rub an area near the back of my head, for example when I wash my hair, I can hear an almost metallic, tinny noise where my fingers are touching my scalp. It almost sounds like it's inside my head.
Now, I do know I have hereditary tinnitus but I'm pretty sure that can't be it. Or at least, I've never heard the noise from the tinnitus do anything like that before.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here? Has anyone experienced anything similar? Do you think maybe it would be worth phoning a Doctor?
Can I get some advice from you guys?

That's really weird, I'd get that checked out by a doctor if I were you. It's probably nothing serious but it's better to be safe than sorry.

It could well be the tinnitus. People have recorded a great number of sounds that has been notified with the condition; pinging, pulsing and ringing and more, even such drastic noises as a loud, constant white noise or something like a metal sheet being repeatedly knocked. As Borg says, best to get it checked out - if it is tinnitus, there are ways to cure it, or at least alleviate the noises with a masking device.
