The Artificer strode forward towards the rock, keeping half an eye on Swix as it did so. If it was correct, the riddle would only require the moniker that this world would know it by.

It pressed "R".

Swix frowned at the riddle, then looked up at the crash and frowned at The Artificer. "I'll not be intimidated by a tin can" she muttered, and then concentrated on the riddle. Eventually, the darkness covered woman pressed the 'O' on the alphapet, and waited to see what would happen.

The R glew, as if thinking. This one was so close.

But not quite.

A shock of green disrupted the being's vision, causing all kinds of alarm bells to likely go off. After it passed, he would feel as close as he could to nausea... and strangely, all systems would report back... differently. Not incorrectly. Just... differently.

((Swix wanna take a crack? I'm headed to work so all updates will be in the span of every two hours from now. It sucks, but better than waiting days to post.

The same would happen to Swix, although she was much further off. After the nausea subsides, she would feel... odd.

Static filled it's mind as systems went haywire, then eventually died down. Getting it's bearings again, it stood aside as the shadow creature took her guess, and allowed it's diagnosis and self repair systems to get everything back to normal.

Once it was satisfied with it's own systems, it reached for the letter "T"

Swix backed off a little, heaving at the horrible feeling of nausea the rock had given her. But she wasn't going to give up, she had an idea of what to do next. This time Swix pushed the 'I'

This time the Artificer spoke, seemingly with an amalgamation of many different voices, yet still robotic. Even so, the unbearable snideness cut through like a knife.

"Leave it to the lesser races to utilise our higher intelligence to solve their problems."

The machine had no mouth, and yet it still managed to look like it was smirking.

"Funny" Swix retorted, not liking the guys snide remark "I wasn't even paying attention to you, tin can. But I guess it must make you feel better to think other species must look up to you". She thought of what The Collector might say or do at the robots comment and smiled at the idea.

Both Swix and the Artificer were admitted to the tunnels after their respective second attempts, landing into a rather unimpressive dirt area. A small table had an assortment of bottles on it, with a sign reading "drink to restore after stone."

Or, they could just see where this lead.

The Artificer studied the sign, and looked over the bottles. Ingestion was an ability long made obsolete, however now this was going to be a problem. It waited to see what the manipulator of shadows would do.

So, what is the big deal with the water?

Grathon, even with the months he spent at the Encampment, there were few that even took notice of him, less so at interaction. Perhaps, obtaining this scarf would allow him to finally open up to the the world and become a true member society. Or more likely, his rivals might tear him apart in the process of obtaining this scarf.

Okay... Just in case, I'll let some others go first.

As he observed the first two enter the pond, a slow ripple motion across his body as he inched closer to the edge. One by one, more of the normal residents began to dive into the strange trial and were attempting to catch up with the lady up front. Seeing no real difficulties, he readied himself as a surfer across the water, minus the board. Then, a petite hop forward landed him stomach first to his journey. Then came the swoosh.

Using his shell to maintain buoyancy, he proceeded to paddle forward in order to reach the others ahead.

((And I just realized I completely screwed up with the rock puzzle. It's my fault, so don't worry about losing any progress you two, but I'll have it fixed in time for Jent.))

Being somewhat hollow sure helped when it came to floating across the pond, and you covered the distance with hardly a problem. You probably fared the best of anyone when it came to contact with anything icky, floating right over it harmlessly.

While you were behind, you weren't behind that much. Up ahead, the other townspeople you left with seemed to be turning around the path, and really, there wasn't anywhere else to go.

If you choose to go to the building, the rock was still there, with the same description on it. You heard someone say only three people had made it through... perhaps it would be difficult to solve?
