Seriously, this is why I honestly think people should HAVE to do a month in retail. The lack of empathy and common sense in people when it comes to retail workers is shocking.

I worked in retail for four months... it was the best job ever. Then again, all I did was go on about awesome video games all the time. There was only one mean customer the whole time, and my manager told him off. :D

Games shop maybe? Customers don't have to be mean, just unempathetic or senseless. Which is a lot more often than mean tbh.

The only ones like that were the parents, and they were usually more thankful for someone helping who actually knew what they were talking about. They did get very snotting when I mentioned that a game was for 18's or something though. It was a little distressing seeing so many parents buy their 10 year old kids excessively violent and thoughtless games.

Violence isn't necessarily bad, it's fun most of the time, but when a game focuses on nothing but that aspect? It makes me worry about future generations a bit. =/ Especially when eight and up year old kids are being bullied for not playing said games.

A good way to get the parents to not buy 18 rated games like GTA for their five and up year olds is to find a movie equivalent of that game and then ask them if they'd let their kids watch that movie.

Telling them GTA is the gaming world equivalent of Scarface, except that the kid will be 'doing' that rather than just watching it usually does the trick with that one :P.

Nowadays you can simply refuse on the grounds that you're gonna get thrown in jail if you do sell it to them. :P

Don't get me wrong, the punishment for the person who sells a rated game to an underage person is WAAAAY too draconian, but at least now A) Games ratings are being taken seriously and B) Sellers have a good reason to stand their ground. They can't be bullied into selling the game (I know if I worked in games retail I'd have a massive issue with doing it, to the point where I wouldn't, ever).

According to my manager if their parents were buying it I had to sell it to them. I wasn't even allowed protest much. I had to tell them that it was over 18's, but not to push the point. He was a decent guy though and only did it because even higher management insisted. I tried to steer them away from the insanely violent ones to the ones that had parental control options or weren't as bloody.

It always made me happy about my own little siblings though, they're 11 and 12, love Pokémon, Skylanders and Minecraft and find those kind of games boring. :P It makes me happy. <3

To be honest whilst I love games like Hotline Miami and Far Cry 3, and play characters like Tarath, I'm actually quite a gentle soul when it comes to my games (and generally to be honest). If I'm given the choice, I generally go for the peaceful, or least violent route. In Dishonored for instance I take the non lethal route, in Civilisation I always strive for a scientific victory, in Black and White I play the good, caring god.

I think it's my time playing Creatures. I like to nurture things. :P

I've given you the EC medal, and permissions, Rose.

If you want to remain undercover, or try on another medal, The User Courts inside the Staging Area inside the The Archives is where ya wanna go. :D

That should help a bit! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. That hasn't been updated in a long time, though I think I might make that a bit of a project...
