Somewhere else...
Coolpikaaa walked out of the Horn and Halo to another beautiful day in Pax. White puffy clouds dotted the robin's egg blue sky, and the warm breeze of summer ruffled his yellow fur. This was the way it should always be, every day.
The little electric mouse inhaled happily and decided it might be worth a stroll to the market. Various townspeople of every type milled around on the street around him, also enjoying the weather. He was about to pass a busy looking woman in a suit...
Flash!
Coolpikaaa stumbled backwards blinking furiously. Celestial winds? He hadn't been this close to one, and the effect was almost painfull to witness. When he had finally cleared the dots from his eyes, he couldn't see the businesswoman anymore, but in her place was a biped with the head of a cow, all the black and white markings too, but with a thick coat of wool around her torso. The multipurpose farm stock stared at CP, devoid of thought as she chewed on grass.
"Wha-?"
The Pikachu looked to his left as more flashes caught his eye. They were muted in intensity, almost like the energy was tired, but far more frequent. All around him, people were disappearing only to be replaced by an aquatic version, a norn, a vine like species, or even themselves with a different haircut. The effects of the flash seemed completely random and chaotic.
Cp stepped back to move towards the bar, and seemed to fall into oblivion. A light dotted where he had been, and a large, intimidating manticore fell out, frantically looking around in confusion. It growled, though the tone immediately shifted into something far more primal.
<big>"AAAAG<big><big>HHHH</big><big><big>HHHH!!!"</big></big>
The mythological beast crumpled in agonizing pain, as melted darkness pouring out from it's eyes, mouth and ears. It whimpered, crumpling into a fetal position and only adding to the confusion.

Ooc Post: How to play Shift
1.This is an RP game!
2.Every new post you write after your first features a different incarnation of that character from across the multiverse. Feel free to use old RPs, or even create on the spot.
3. It's a game. It's supposed to be wacky, so don't worry about making posts long or detailed, or getting hung up on having to write. Just post whatever comes to mind, and post often!
4.The incarnations are "filled in" on the general idea of what has been going on by the forces switching them in. You won't have to repeat yourself to each new character, but if this particular version actually chooses to cooperate is entirely up to them.
Let's see what springs out of this randomness, shall we?

Torn from her reality unexpectedly, a scarlet-clad woman arrived from a glimmering light in a more respectable manner. Around her were twelve hovering stones orbiting in a crazed fashion. Eyes spinning, the satellites restored themselves in a natural pattern as she addressed the creatures close by.
"Hmmm, why does this happen during my slumber," she mused. "Also, what is with you, Manticore? I thought you enjoyed the darkness?"

"Darkness? Oh no my fair lady, I quite enjoy the light. In fact, I come pre-loaded with several vision enchancing applications." A small cube spoke with a slight amount of audio interference, spinning out of a flash that replaced the Manticore. The cube quickly illuminated to a nearly blinding intensity, before fading back to normal. "I can also apply several color filters to "set the mood". Oh!"
The cube exclaimed, whizzing close to examine the satellites.
"This is interesting! How is it you are doing that? Oh! Who are you? I don't believe we've met." The A.I chirped, before a grid of light quickly flashed on the scarlet woman's face. "No. We haven't. Are you my owner? Would you like me to describe my usage manual?"
"Oh! I can't connect to the main server. How odd. One moment..." The cube floated, then whizzed off to inspect the nearby buildings. It even flew up high to take a topographic scan before returning.
"Oh dear... it seems we are no longer on the planet Blackstar. I must remind you that my location services are- Oh! One moment... The flash from earlier, did we perhaps cross a gap in the space time continuum? I have an application for that, if so. It seems a worthy hypothesis."

Swix had been, well, in the bar in fact as it was neutral territory before all this started. The woman had walked out to see people popping in and out of existence through the white lights.
"What the hell is going on? " Swix swore, before she too dropped into oblivion, replaced by someone-something, else. This thing was the same size and proportions as Swix, but it was mostly covered in a thick, orange yellow, mottled skin save for one shoulder, half it's neck and the same half of its face. This thing scanned her surroundings with yellow eyes... and telepathy she broadcast outwards, seeking a touch, a whisper, anything.
"Where are they?" she said eventually, verbally "WHERE ARE THEY? GONE, they're all gone!"

"A hypothesis you say?" Twirling a glass of wine in his hands, the green mage sipped the intoxicating liquid casually as spoke aloud. "Why yes my dear friend, I do believe there has been a shift in spacetime. Not my field of expertise, though a few friends of mine had dabbled in such physics-what is this!?"
Frantic, the man tumbled forward at the sight of the other Swix. Not of fright, but of curiosity. In pitch of hysterical laughter, numerous orange scar blurted out from his sides in likeness of the lady. "My, my, taken the wrong dip of sorts?" he giggled. "Bah, no more tangents! Is this all of us that be adventuring?"

"A dip? What on Pax is a wrong dip?" a small Dragon answers the green mage, her scales grey, her eyes deep green with the usual slitted pupils, and her body designed far more for running than flying or digging or plodding along ponderously that a large wingless Dragon would do. The grey Dragon had wings, though they were folded neatly onto her back in a streamlined manner and she walked on four legs. If she were on her hind legs, she'd easily reach nine feet, but on four, only her long neck made her head come up to the five and a half feet mark.
The grey Dragon narrowed her deep green eyes "And why would I want to go on an adventure with you here?"

Coolpikaaa had returned, falling out of the sky in the spot where the cube had been floating. The electric mouse groaned, rubbing his bruised tail as he stood up, then sprang to attention at the sight of his company.
"Ka?" He said, looking at Tages in an odd green garb. The electric mouse frowned at the infection. It was clearly disgusting him. "Pika, pi pi chu!" He waved, throwing his paws down in frustration.
"Chu chu?" Coolpikaaa wondered, his attention now on the grey dragon. He walked over and ran his paw across the grey scales of her foreleg. "Chu! Chu!" He cried out, giving the leg a great hug. Happily, he scurried up the miniature dragon to stand on her head.
"Pika, ka chu. Ka ka, pika ka chu!" He shouted, standing on the dragon's head. The electric mouse pointed to nearby flashes of light and waved his arms. "Ka! Pi! Chu chu!" Cp eventually concluded, tugging lightly on the dragon's ears, and pointing in a direction further down the street frantically.

Snatched from this reality, the pompous mage's replacement chilled the surroundings with her appearance. Smiling, her bare feet quietly strolled to approach the distraught rodent, her eerily lips moistened as she tasted the air near him. "Mmmm, as much this reality pleases me with its exotic tang, we best get moving you two," the copper-cloaked miss heeded.
Snapping her fingers, fervent winds erupting from the warped earth billowed out in agony, their terrified screams dragged through the depths of the underworld. Gesturing with her hands, the numerous souls slowly ginding together channeled a frictional energy of swiftness to the three. To which the woman jumped toward the indicated path, waving at them to run after her.

"I'm not going anywhere with you creatures" the grey Dragon, Zephyr spat, though she looked entirely confused by the electric mouse first rubbing her foreleg, then hugging it, then climbing on top of her head.
The flash came then, and replaced the grey Dragon with something else-a creature that was partially human, but mostly spider. This thing was around nine feet tall, with chitinous black armour covering her entire spiders body, as well as her humanoid torso up to the neck and the lower half of her jaw. Her hair too, was made of chitin, and cascaded over her shoulders. She had humanoid arms and hands, but the hands ended in claws rather than nails. Her jaw was far more spider too, there were black mandibles there rather than a mouth, only the top part of her face was still skin, and her eyes were their normal hazel.
Spider Swix curiously tilted her head to look at the mouse on top of it, shrugged her armoured shoulders, and began walking the way the wind seemed to go on eight legs.

"Okay... No." The Pikachu on top of the Arachnid protested, slinking back on it's seat of chitin. The one that emerged from the flash this time seemed much younger, more lithe, and most strikingly, female. "I don't know what weirdness you guys are into but I sure as hell aren't following ghost girl and spider queen into danger. That's olden day shit!"
The female Pikachu nimbly backflipped off the irregular shapes of armor that were styled like "hair" to the spider-woman. She stood on the monster's large abdomen, and toyed with a thin piece of technology wrapped around her arm. It displayed an error message and sent her off into another stream of expletives.
Dissatisfied, she sat down on the spider in a huff. The faded red backpack she carried with her shifted and made a bunch of odd sounds from it's contents knocking into each other. The grumpy young mouse didn't say anything more while the wind of screaming souls led them towards the newly opened museum of Pax. She seemed to have decided she wasn't getting anywhere without another flash.
The universe being as young as it was, the museum had been built to house the relics people had accidentally transported across with them instead of display history. Perhaps detrimental to their mission, the building seemed to give off a odd vibe ...
"Ain't no way I'm going in there." The electric mouse said without looking at either of them. "There are reasons I don't hang out with the M.T.H weirdos."

"M.T.H weirdos?" said the Basilisk that had just warped in to where the spider had used to be as she slithered along, not really understanding where they were going since she had her eyes closed so as not to turn anyone into stone. Mirror Swix tilted her head as she slithered along "What's an M.T.H. weirdo when it's at home?"

"TEMPORAL DISTURBANCE RECEDING. VISUAL SCANS DETECT HOSTILE TARGETS IN IMMEDIATE VICINITY."
A robotic voice echoed around the new figure, its cybernetic systems aware of the lingering vengeful spirits veiled to sight. From the ground up, the integrated complexity of these obscure artificial components in the black mage declined exponentially past his waist, rendering the remainder to be localized at the cyborg's extremities. Centered in his open palms, narrowed green eyes awoken by the user's will seemingly glared at the two adventurers.
"WEAPON SYSTEMS ENGAGED. PROCEEDING IN TERMINATION OF THE SPECTRAL BEINGS ."
Watched from the oscillating pupils, beams of concentrated greek flames fired with precision curved along the bodies of Swix and CP. The cyborg's automated defense program took no satisfaction at the seared spirits wailing. For, despite its harsh judgement, merely protected its user from the threats that harbored malicious intentions to his security; incidentally extended to the living in the area. All the while occurring in the moments of the black mage yawning. The targeted beings' astral forms slowly dissipated as they drifted down in the likeness of autumn leaves, to which beholding a scenery reminiscent of the season as well.
"OPERATIVE SETHLANS CACHE CLEARED. INITIALIZING BACKGROUND MODE."
Still tired, the black mage watched the sizzling soot of the fallen spirits, taking note off the recent actions before speaking. "Such an odd dream, wasn't it? That or we still basking in this turmoil?" shaking his head disparagingly, walked to the weird museum as he griped . "Blasted multiverse, we better find a solution to this nonsense."

"I'd say we're still basking in the multiverses turmoil" said the being that had replaced the Basilisk, which was a two foot tall stuffed panther with glowing green eyes and specially designed claws on it's forefeet "Not that that surprises me in the slightest, the multiverse is always in turmoil"
