"The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time."
-Abraham Lincoln
36 Years Later...
She leaned against the short brick border of the building's rooftop, watching the rusty metal door of the access for any signs of movement. No one ever came up here. She came up here, true, but normal people didn't. Normal people followed signs, like the "no entry" one on the other side of the door.
It wasn't even locked.
She tilted her head backwards to rest on the brick. She closed her eyes, listening to the sounds of the city. It was late at night, but the Encampment hummed, alive. Full of light, glass and steel. People. Gotta love technological revolution. Not long ago they used wood and rocks and swords. Or so she was told. She hadn't been alive then. She probably wouldn't have survived in such a boring time.
Her wrist rumbled, and she opened her eyes. The watch like computer on her arm displayed the word "Grannie" and displayed an image of a weathered, grumpy old woman. She hit "ignore". It was time she got moving anyway.
She hunched, throwing the tiny red satchel off her back and dragged it over to the skylight. She rummaged through it, taking a thin small slip of material from an equally small case and allowing it to dissolve on her tongue. Within a minute her eyes took on an eerie greenish glow - a side effect of the drug she had just taken. It was called "Zer0", and there was a LOT of debate over if it was "bad" or not. The chemical cocktail was basically a godsend to the body - it greatly improved concentration, energy, and natural abilities. It was only supposed to be distributed to the elite warriors of Pax, but she had her sources.
Her wrist rumbled again. "Dad".
"Ignore".
"This call has been flagged as "IMPORTANT".
"Ignore".
She unpacked a rope and harness, then removed the glass of the skylight. She was careful in how she set up the rig - she had once pinned her tail tightly in the ropes and it was sore for days. Below her was the museum of Pax, closed and empty for the night. She could see her target - a glass case that seemed like it needed far more security. That was trouble. Something was hidden.
Whatever it was, she would solve it. Inside the case was her job for the night, one that could potentially set her up for life. The Onyx Longsword of Blackstar.
And she was going to steal it.

Museum of Pax
Tom unhooked his Robotic Prothsetic leg from it's charger, and pushed his guard uniform down over it. It seemed in his advanged age, what didn't ache hurt, and what didn't hurt wasn't there anymore. Had he known that his stint in charge of the Knights didn't include a pension, he'd have put more away, but he didn't, and he still required a place to stay, food to eat, medicines to keep him alive just one more day.
He had been lucky. He knew the founder of the Museum, and they had hooked him up with a position he was qualified for. Unfortunately, the in this age of peace there was only one job a soldier of his age could qualify for: Guard duty. They pay was lousy, and the hours worse, but it did get him the necessities.
What an age it had become. Things in Pax had gotten so peaceful, the management of the Museum didn't even see fit to give him a weapon. When He brought it up, they merely laughed and said "If anything were to actually happen, you have our permission to use one of the exhibits. It made him uneasy, but he had to admit - after five years of doing this job, he hadn't needed anything once....so they may have been right.
He stood up and walked over to his desk. He collected his keys, clipping them to his belt, and a flashlight. Even if things were peaceful, he still believed in due diligence, and insisted on actually walking the museum at night.

Temple of Au'Marui
It seemed the Mad God had fallen out of favor after the crisis of the past. His temple still stood, though it had fallen into some disrepair. The Knights still had access to the HQ, but with no enemies, there was no need to use it, and they had all left, one by one, to start families away from the memory of this place. In fact, the only one who was ever seen there was a crotchity old man. No one knew his name, nor did anyone care. If he wanted to ineffectively polish the old statue, what business is it of the average joe? No, they left him alone, neither thinking about or caring about the God who saved their world, or the man who stuck to the old ways.
Thus the man continued on, muttering to himself when something new broke, and trying to keep the temple together with no help.

Temple of Au'Marui
Wondering how the old 'order god' was doing, as it has been a while. Shiri decided to visit Au'Marui's temple... And also to escape from the noise of the city that tended to bother her at her shrine due to the proximity.
The white wolf saw how the Temple had fallen into disrepair and sighs... It appears after everything he had done for them, the Knights and their squires had abandoned the Temple completely. She headed inside and saw the old man, tilting her head.
"Greetings... I see time was not very kind to you as of late." The goddess mused, appearing to know him.

Camp City
Thorn was sitting in an office building scanning through papers and blueprints... To think she started off as a lost Floran, killing animate Christmas decorations and beasts, yelling at gods and literally poking at evil... Then to a Knight of Insanity, then the leader of the technological revolution and now a mayor of a city... It was far from what she expected that was for sure. She breathed a sigh and looks out the window, picking up a cup of tea and sipping at it.
"Floran come a long way." Thorn-Dancer giggled quietly to herself, staring out at the city-scape with a small smile, reflecting on the past.

Temple of Insanity
Turning around to face the newcomer, DP's features shift younger and his celestial glow returns.
"Well, no. It's my way of protesting....this," DP says, holding his hands up and gesturing all around him. "Considering everything that has happened here, for the people of that city to let the temple to go to this is disrespectful. The fact that they won't help a poor old man fix it up doubly so. So far it....has yet to yield the desired results"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a rooftop within the city
Mike made a rolling landing on the rooftop. He was out on patrol with his group, the Knights of Insanity. They had no ties to the old group, but the name served them well. He reflected on how he had come to use the name.
Everyone said that the Mad God must have touched his mother. But he'll never forget when he became old enough, and she said that the God actually had, with Mike being the result. Mike didn't believe it, but it was good for business, so he kept up the rumor. The fact was if he was the son of the Old God, he hadn't inherited any powers of note, so he might as well not be.
He waited for the rest of the group to join him....it was an early start to their patrol, and they still had most of the city to cover before daybreak....Sponsorships didn't sell themselves, and without any publicity soon, it was bout to dry up.

"Where are you, Dammit?"
"Just... hanging out." She replied. It was... technically true, as she was currently dangling high above the Onyx Longsword by a rope.
"Your dance trainer called. Said you didn't come to practice."
"Huh. Weird." She replied, lowering herself.
"You haven't been to any of them."
"Whhhhaaaattt? No way!"
"May Agitha Pikaaa..."
"Sorry Dad, you're breaking up!" She said, covering her mouth with a paw to create a muffled effect. The longsword was close, this would be the tricky part. What was bothering her most of all was how easy this had been so far... something wasn't right.
"No. I'm not. These devices don't break up. I designed them that way."
But by then she had already unhooked the watch from her wrist and stuffed it into the tiny satchel.

On top of the temple of insanity, there was a being...a being that has never changed in the last few years, and if anything, she only became more detached.Every word that she heard, she barely replied, and it was obvious she barely understood anything.Nothing reached her right now.
"They'll return." The being said, slowly taking form.Only by remembering the few specific moments of her life, that she could clearly remember, she still could take shape. What was her name? Why she was here?Or, a more important question...why she was dead?
But whenever she thought of them, she couldn't remember. Her mind was blank...she could only remember a few vague details. The demoness who, even though is extremely lustful, 'adopted' the ghost during her life...the tough, but nice and kind, Floran who always treated her with respect...the split, which acted almost like a bigger sister to her...and then, the gentleman of the knights, who gave her the ability to talk with him and others...and the man behind it all, Au'Marui, a person who trusted her, even though he had no reason at all to trust her.
"They will return." She repeated to herself, completely sure that she was not forgotten...not by anybody.Until she could rest in peace, until she was reassured that she did everything she could for them, and, until she is sure that even if she leaves, they will live a happy life...she will stay there.Until she sees the knights again, until she can hug them and laugh together, for a last time. Her form would become slightly more stable and visible, taking shape of a young girl, wearing a miko-like outfit...but she was transparent, and glowing white.
She was dead, why, or how, she was not sure...but would it matter, if even that wouldn't stop her from meeting them again? For anyone unable to interact with spirits, she wasn't visible at all...but for those that could, she could be seen.
A few tear drops would fall from her face, as she began to remember the time she spent with the knights."They will return." she said, one more time.It was the only words she could say.The only words that she could still remember...but even then, she wasn't sure of their meaning. All did she know is that it calmed her down, and was the reason for her to stay there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sipping on a cup of tea, a succubus sighed. She is one of the members of the pantheon. As a goddess, she did not act towards mortals, whether it is to help, or punish them, unless there was nobody else to do so...or they were an imediate threat to her family.Mostly, after the dangers were gone, she enjoyed a life as a noble of the upper class...occasionally looking towards the temple of insanity, frowning whenever she did so.
Currently, she was wearing a rather expensive dress.A white, silk dress that reached up to the goddess' feet that looked like it is reserved for only formal situations.Normally, one would say it is unfitting for an archdemon...although Arisu had changed quite a bit during the years. As she realized her actions, and subconscious intentions, she began to grow kinder...even a bit nicer.Soon after that, she began to oppose evil, more and more...to the point of her ascending, into a celestial being.
"And that's all that happened...gueez, even now, I am still impressed by that ghost." the not-so-infernal goddess said, frowning slightly as she did so, looking at the direction of the temple.
"Oh, she probably will recover from it, after a few hundred of years. If she doesn't, she is more stubborn than you, granny." Another woman, currently sharing the meal with the goddess, said...only to get hot tea thrown at her face in response for the granny comment. She was wearing only a leather armor, made by herself, so her wings could still fit through holes on it.To the left, an angelic wing.To the right, a demonic one.She was a hybrid between two species, that should never breed.Unlike many people, she was...different, seemingly younger than she was in her first appearence in Pax."So...I shall aim for this timeline." She said with a grin, purposely ignoring the hot tea on her face.
"I advise you to wash your face, before you do anything else, my foolish grandchild." the goddess replied with a chuckle.
"Yes, granny." the hybrid said, leaving the table, to wash her face.

On a rooftop within the city
Raph quickly came next after their leader. The young Jix found himself accepted in group rather easily, being the grand-child of the ex-Knights helped quite a bit, even though he ran away from home shortly after the split occurred.
"The rest are lagging behind again boss," the young teen smirked, his dark bands just leaning above the striking green eyes. He believed himself to be like the second in command the Knights of Insanity despite his age, always causing trouble of some sort with his brashness while his other half stayed back in the Jix Mansion with the rest of the family. "Still can't access the funds to mum's credit card, though."
Frowning at this news he told to Mike, the Jix turned around to watch the others arrive to the rooftop. Raph had to get together a little side-cash for his 'vacation' soon, wanting to go outside the city to visit a certain someone personally.

The Museum
Stood to the side of the exhibits was a figure both invisible and silent, not moving a muscle as she'd come to watch over the Onyx Longsword like she always did. Well, not always, she'd left careful safeguards around the artifact after noticing how lax the museum was with security, and even now after so many years of peace remained vigilant. She worked out, made sure to keep her mind sharp, constantly practiced, and her hearing had done nothing but get stronger. She'd even taken on a student, who just happened to be with her now. Tonight, it seemed, someone was trying to steal the Relic that came from a lost realm. Someone who had not gone through the trials she'd had to to gain it. Someone who had no claim on it. And that someone was about to be in for a big surprise.
Quick as a flash, the assassin known as Fade had sent ice cascading out to cover the glass case, sealing the Relic inside a wall of frozen water.

The Dragon Knight Trials Tower
Mina, the Dragon Knight, stood atop the Dragon Knight Trials Tower she'd built far enough outside the city for them not to be bothered by anyone who was merely passing curious, but close enough to still be visible on the skyline, so that people knew it was there. It was only worth making the journey here if being a Dragon Knight is truly what people wanted to do. Dragon Knight training was delicate at points, times where the students should not be bothered for trivial things, and Mina was very protective of her students. The first of the order on Pax did not seem to have aged much, Dragon Knights could live for a couple thousand years and Mina had only been around 25 when she'd first had her soul changed in her homeworld. Right now, she stood in her human form, her silver eyes looking over the bustling city, watchful as the golden hair she had waved behind her in the wind from this altitude. The place had certainly changed much.

A Cave in Pax
The adult hybrid was hiding again. She was always hiding. Blue had even taken to wearing her old black cloak again, concealing her wings and tail, as well as covering her eyes, claws and fangs with illusions so she looked perfectly normal. Like any other humanoid.
Not what she was.
The one... that had blown up Kata.

The Jix Mansion
Swix reclined in her chair on the first floor of the 'Jix Mansion', a Mansion only because they were constantly adding to it over the years as their family grew. Even now, the Split was surrounded by children and pregnant again, along with the people they trusted that helped them with raising the children and various other tasks. That way the proud parents could have at least a little bit of a break on occasion.
Mostly proud, the family had it's few bad eggs, as most did. At least they didn't have one like CPs daughter currently, who wasn't answering her phone... again. Swix sighed and put the device away, she only kept it to keep in contact with CP and his daughter. Try as she might she'd never get over her fear of technology.
Unlike the picture on the wayward Pichus phone, Swix had not aged at all. It was all thanks to the peaches that had been given to her husband, the father of her children, the man she would stay with literally forever. The peaches kept her forever young as long as she ate them when needed. She loved him as much as she ever had, the immortal had taken her heart and given her his, and given her something she'd never dreamed when she met him would happen. A family, for both of them. A very large one, and the Split didn't mind, she didn't even mind being pretty much constantly pregnant throughout her life... She was loving it.

Saphira was one of the first two students of Mina that was able to turn into a dragon.Maybe the first.Even at the first few days, she already had a competitive mindset against her 'rival' apprentice.Even now, after being a full knight, she still had a competitive, and now, proud mindset, wishing to surpass her teacher. She was still far from being as powerful as Mina, magically but...
During these years, she had grown.Currently standing on 40ft tall, without turning into a dragon, wrestling against the naga was close to hopeless, unless one was an Oni,or, a dragon, like Mina...but that would not stop Saphira from playfully pouncing Mina from behind, hugging her tightly, and, hopefully, not knocking both herself and Mina off the tower."Good morning teacher!" she said, without a care if it was night or day: what mattered is, she finished her current session of meditation, which lasted around two months and 5 days.It wasn't so bad, as during these two months, Saphira would be hibernating anyways, and the 5 last days, she was still 'waking up' from her long slumber.

She swung back and forth, each time getting closer and closer to the display case. She readied the button for a quick retreat - as soon as the sword was in her paws she would hit the switch and be quickly lifted back to the rooftop, loot in hand.
One more swing and May would be sending the glass case flying, in position to grab the relic, and ready to retreat. She swung forward, tiny paws out,
Cold.
Rather than knock off the case, she quickly planted her feet against the glass and kicked herself away from it. Just in time too, as the spot she had been touching just moments ago was rapidly enveloped in a wall of ice.
Unfortunately, May was still dangling from a rope that worked much like a pendulum, sending her soon swinging back towards the firm obstacle. She tried to cover her head with her short arms, but she did next to nothing to cushion the impact, colliding with the wall hard enough to create a large crack in it. The Pichu hung limply, dazed as she tried to figure out exactly what just happened.

The Museum
Over the years, the mutant taught several students her trade she had mastered, one of which happened to accompanied Fade during this night at the museum. He, while not the most fond of pupil, learned greatly from the assassin. Grinning under the veil of his mentor, the second hidden guard of the museum watched as the little Pichu swung about on her rope, swinging a carved projectile of wood at the frigid figure's lone 'life-line' to snap it.

The Dragon Knight Trials Tower
Sethre swooped down from the sky on dark wings, gazing down at the familiar faces below as he landed on the tower. "Slept well, Saphira?" He tilted his head, leaving a trail of blue wisps from his jaws. He through the years, while not as physical powerful in regards to the giant naga, demonstrated higher control over his forms than she could imagine.
"Say, how our the new ones doing?"
Shifting his form to be more draconian than pokemon, he tapped his clawed foot lightly on the ground. The transformed being thought at the different aspects that dwelt inside him, providing all sorts of influences in his creation prior to his training from Mina. Sethre found it intriguing to be such a 'chimera.' Still, at least I can call myself something proper: a Dragon Knight.

The Jix Mansion
Jent strolled through a hallway of the first floor of the mansion he shared with his lovely family, spotting a beautiful misses reclining in her chair. "Found yourself somewhere comfy I see," the Distortionist smiled at her, sliding over a chair next to Swix to sit down in. They never seemed to worry too much anymore these days. Pax, brought to resemble its own name, hadn't had any real skirmishes that lasted long nor severely struck its citizens.
The immortal laid his hand over his wife's stomach, gently rubbing the sides as he smiled at her. "Our next bundle of joy doing well as usual?" Jent asked, drinking in the sight of Swix. "Its been quite some time they have been in there, just always like to check."
Over-whelmed by the sheer happiness, he appreciated the grand gesture Shirianui bestowed him and Swix, nearly casting away his indefinite life-span to spend the remaining years with the woman he loved. No one else took him so kindly as she did, staying at his side through thick and thin.

May was resting on the neat, tiled ground of the museum now, wondering what exactly she had done to piss off what was apparently ghosts. The Pichu had landed roughly when the rope was slashed, and managed a single weak push-up to check her surroundings. A small trickle of blood ran from her nose, but she didn't feel it at all thanks to the drugs running through her system.
No one here?
May stared at the icy case and listened. Something had to be here or she wouldn't have fallen. The case wouldn't have froze. As she slipped off the now useless rope harness, she began to think the ghosts hypothesis was becoming increasingly likely.

???????
Somewhere in this Pax a being still lurked, not in every shadow, just in any shadow-smirking at the younger generations ideas of why The Wall had been built around her Tainted Forest. The structure itself did not 'Seal' her as a lot seemed to believe, or more likely wanted to believe, in fact the shadows cast by the structure made it more convenient to get to the edge of her 'territory'. No, the wall was in fact there to keep foolish mortals out. The animals contained within stayed there because she ensured it, but foolish idiots thinking they could take the creatures had gone in and perished on their own choice. So the mortals themselves had built The Wall around the dangerous Tainted Forest soon after.
The entity didn't mind this, she'd joined the Pantheon and with the deep connection between her and her brothers, was a bit different than she was before. She'd regained what she'd lost.
Still, she was still around, and mortals were just as amusing as ever.

The Horn and Halo
What had once been an Inn made entirely out of wood had grown. The building had at least five more floors added to it on top, as well as an extension to all of its floors space, so it was much wider than before. It had become a grand hotel, the first one, with a built in bar and restaurant that took up most of the ground floor. It was classy, a far cry from the beloved but relatively small Inn it had once been before.
And the owner, the werewolf Tala, watched over it carefully. The old innkeeper had left it to her, and Syllak had run off somewhere with Bloodlicker, the two warriors had yet to return.

Dragon Knight Trials Tower
Mina turned just as the Naga went to hug her, the Dragon Knight did not mind, the Naga was naturally affectionate and that was a good quality. "Hello Saphira, how are you doing today?" the Dragon Knight asked after hugging her back. Then she looked to Sethre "Good morning, the students are progressing well and the new batch are adjusting accordingly. Perhaps you should introduce yourselves to them soon"

The Temple of Insanity
As the two immortals spoke to each other one of the Jix, the third born who had been named Rose appeared there after she had teleported. The woman had dark but relatively curly hair cut short above her shoulders, hazel eyes and happened to be wearing a dark green dress with long gloves on either arm. Please
Putting a hand to her head and one on the stone of the abandoned Temple Rose winced "Oh boy, I need to figure out how to direct myself more accurately" then the Jix looked up, looked around and frowned after realising where she was "Wow. Mom is NOT going to be happy when she hears about this..."
