The Rediscovery of the Red Forest

"Such as?" Skathi asked, unfazed by the stranger floating over to them. "It be nice to inform us rather than just warn. How'd we know they aren't just some random species you are trying to protect?"

Thorn tilted her head when she saw the tree wave back and heard the whispers intensify, then heard the canid. "... Floran jussst curiousss, but no want to leave." The Floran said, folding her arms. "Floran would like to underssstand treesss, rather learn than to leave." She grumbled, being a very stubborn plant.

[Swix]

"Well, for a start, they 'are' technically just some random species I'm trying to protect, and secondly-err, you want to learn about them?" tilting his head, the canid seemed to be listening to something in his mind "... Alright, they've given you permission to come in and learn, but don't break anything otherwise you will see another outbreak of Xenoparasites" he beckoned for thm to come in.

"Don't snap any branches. Got it," she answered back. Skathi never figured this canid to be a translator for the trees... and what are these Xenoparasites? She thought to herself, walking forward as the stranger said.

Thorn was puzzled by the sudden change in attitude from Lushik, and pondered over what these Xenoparasites were... Though the cautiously walked into the forest curiously. "Floran no break thingsss" She said to Lushik, but was still puzzled over all of this.

"Good, good" the canid said as they walked, nodding slightly as they went "these are far more than your average tree, and their defences-or I should say, defenders, are rather aggressive. I and the Trees themselves do not want to see so many fleshy creatures murdered and used for spare parts once again" as they walked inside, the trees would all start leaning towards the centre, the place that they were going to, and the whispering would grow louder as they went.

Skathi heard of how the parasitic variants of homunculi had done similar deeds to humans they come across. These creatures likely act in a similar manner when provoked. I don't plan on getting torn apart by the 'little-what-evers,' the huldra rolled her eyes, taking notice of the trees' direction they were leaning towards.

Thorn listened quietly, rather shocked by what she heard. "... Floran... No want that to happen again either" She mumbled nervously, looking up at the trees, seeing how they were leaning and whispering louder. "Ssseem like rather excitable bunch" She noted awkwardly as she and Skathi followed.

"Ah here we are" the canid said as they came to the centre, where the largest tree of all stood tall and wide, and under it was a blue, nine foot tall insectoid that clicked it's mandibles when it saw them approach.
. Without another word Lushik disappeared off into the mass of plant life, leaving them there.

"I'm Teacher" the insectoid told them "what is it you wish to learn about us?"

Thorn-Dancer stared at the huge tree, though her attention was then brought to the blue insectoid when she heard the click.
"Floran... Isss Thorn-Dancer, and... Floran need moment to decide on quessstionsss." The Floran chirped awkwardly, she had lots of things she wanted to ask, but choosing which one to say first was rather hard to decide for her, though she did ponder over one question.

"Floran want to know about... How treesss whisssper? Floran heard it ever sssince arrived at foressst, not sssure if it jussst Floran sssensssativity to sssuch thingsss that let Floran hear them or not."

"I'm Teacher... what is it you wish to learn about us?"

Paying attention to the fleeting Lushik from the corner of an eye, the huldra calmly observed the giant insectoid being that loomed over the two of them. "My name is Skathi," she stated to Teacher, trying to figure out the complexity of it through the power of her glowing sight. "Anything that you wish to say, in the broadest of terms."

"To be simply at first, though. Perhaps how you arrived in this land for starters?"

"The whispering... The trees here are always talking to each other telepathically. You must be quite sensitive to notice that" the insectoid then turned to the huldra "we were brought here by the celestial winds. The trees and the crew of the ship the trees were originally being transported on... although minus the ship. We all arrived at the same time... Never quite figured out why"

"Anything else?"

Skathi understood now of those faint noises that left lingering waves in the air fully, seeing their utilization of telepathy to likely sync their movements in harmony with each other. "As I heard from other sources, not too much in inanimate structures appear to follow with into Pax via the Celestial Winds," she expanded upon. That one she ship found on Kata appeared to be largely organic in design, possibly how it managed to arrive in this realm unlike the Xenoparasites' own...

"By the way of understanding 'used for parts,' is this a fairly easy process to replicate?" Skathi asked, intrigued if this lead assisted herself in her work back on Kata.

"Floran communicate telepathically alsssso, usssed to have huuuuuge coon-kin ssso usssed to lotsss of mental noissse... It now make ssssilence almossst... Painful to Floran in way?" She cheeped awkwardly. "Though... Floran hasss new coon-kin, no longer hear sssilence, though ssstill quiet enough to hear unlinked voicessss faintly." She explained with a smile, though then tilted her head.

"Why wasss carrying treesss on sssship? Did sssomething happen that required relocation?" She asked curiously.

Teacher looked to Thorn first, her question the easiest of all to answer. "We were transporting the trees to another location in order to preserve and study the unique alien life we had found, in case something did happen... Unfortunately not all of my crew was as respectful as they should have been... "

Now, clicking her mandibles uncomfortable she looked to Skathi. "... replication would be... inadvisable"
