Well, I'd just like to say that I freaking love STO! It's their 3rd Anniversary and they're having a 'party' for the next two weeks, they've even decorated Earth Spaceock and Qo'noS First City with festive holograms. Just for this. Well, it is the game's birthday, I can't really say I blame them for wanting to make the places festive. There's a quest with Q that's suitably quirky, fun and egatistical for him, that will give you a choice of a useful, a random or an equally quirky and awesome prize. One of them's a balloon gun. Why am I telling you this? Well, firstly, because should you become curious and want to try it, possibly again, then you can't fail to notice the balloons everywhere and the people running around with the guns making them, and secondly, because then I couldn't quote this quote at you. I saw somebody write it in Zone chat and it made me giggle: "That's the funniest thing I've seen all day. A Vulcan running around in circles holding a gun that shoots out giant balloons"
Not just that but, they've also put out a Feature episode that features Denise Crosby and completing that means you earn a free Ambassador class Starship. Or a free Kamarag class Battlecruiser, if on the KDF side, plus uniform accessories. The best thing about this, I think, is that the free
ship Is actually two ships, so you don't have to be at max level to enjoy it. Plus, you only have to be at level 6 to take part in the mission, so nobody misses out.

The mission is awesome, by the way, really well done, with a very 'Star Trek' feel to it. But I won't say anymore about it so I don't spoil it ;)

I used to play STO - and whilst overall enjoyable - found the content lacking at the time. I don't know how far they've developed the game now though.

Currently am spending a reasonable amount of time playing Guild Wars 2. Which I am really enjoying the PVE and consider it to have one of the best PVP aspects that I've ever found - and I hate PVP!

Otherwise I am occasionally flitting to Halo Wars - the real time strategy game.

Well, GBE, in the short time I've been playing STO they've rntroduced-

-Three themed Lockboxes, Tholian, Temporal and recently Dominion. I've still got some Tholian ones because I really, really, really want a Tholian Orb Weaver ship.

-Tholian Red Alerts

-New Special Task Force Missions.

-The Omega and Romulan Reputation Systems

-STF style Romulan missions

-An entirely new Sector Block, Tau Dewa, home of many new system missions

-Fleet Embassy's on New Romulus

-New Romulus itself, which has ground Tholian alerts along with a myriad of missions that you'd expect to find on a newly habitable, newly colonised and not yet fully understood planet. You can even raise a certain type of pet from baby to elder there called an Epohh (I've heard some people refer to them as 'Romulan Rabbits'). It's a huge 'Adventure Zone' that isn't as crazy and panic inducing as it is the minute you step out of base camp on Nukara Prime, or as pressing and crazy as doing the same on Defera. In fact it can be quite relaxing. Sometimes I just go and sit by the river.for a bit and watch other players do their missions, or just walk around and appreciate how beautiful Mcl'Rihan is.

-Also, not exactly new content but, there was also Qs Winter Wonderland during the holidays that let people do races to earn a Breen Warship, or a Christmas variety Epohh, or take part in snowball fights with animated snowmen and use decorations to pay for cool items. I got a scarf, a jacket and a pair of Frosted Boots. You could also go skiing on the frozen lake with the Frosted Boots on, which was fun. Pkus Q would turn you into a random creature if you asked him if he was as powerful as people said, and run around like that for a while, which was fun too.

I haven't played Guild Wars 2, is it as good as the hype?.

I've been dragged back into Skyrim, mostly as an excuse to see how well my graphics card handles 4K resolution textures (VERY WELL :D), but also out of interest in a couple of mods like Frostfall (need to watch how long you stay in the cold and rain) and Moonpath to Elsweyr (Jungles and forests and deserts, oh my!).

I've found myself unable to seriously play any other video game since Skyrim came out. I've completed every single miscellaneous quest, repeatable quest and radiant quest at least once, have completed Dawnguard and am now doing the mini-quests for that before I move onto Dragonborn.

Although I take breaks in playing it for days, sometimes weeks at a time, I genuinely believe I'm obsessed with finishing it. It feels like a betrayal to play anything else. xD;

See I can't play Skyrim without a metric ton of mods (like, about 120ish last time I counted, including graphical uphauls). The base game alone feels like... missed potential I guess. Big as an ocean, deep as a puddle. It looked great, but there wasn't much beneath the surface, as I find with most Bethesda RPGs.

Lately I've been trying to play skyrim again, but after getting some new graphics mods, it's started crashing to desktop. I'll need to reinstall skyrim one of these days.

Found a Third Anniversary video of STO and all it released this year. Music's pretty epic too! ;)

Well, apparently the video code on here doesn't actually work, so I'll just give ya the youtube link.

Unofficial but awesome videos of all three STO Anniversaries, stumbled across them whilst I was looking for that first one. Epic music on these too! ;)

Was going to save these for the screenlog buuut I just can't resist sharing ;).

Image

Me and my Sehlat Cub, chilling at the river on New Romulus (yes it is stood on a chair with me :P... and yes CP, I did turn the camera the less scary way)

Image

Image

Both of these two are from the Winter Event, the first one I just wanted to show off my jacket whilst standing on the frozen lake but I caught my char's breath, cool huh?
Image

Image

I mostly took these due to the sheer quirkiness of Q's party preparations... and his dancers...

Image

Image

Same as above, only on the Klingon side. Never knex Breen were such party people! Do you like my Frostbite Spider btw? ;)

Class F Shuttle

It's a few hundred years old. But the Borg were oh so happy to "help" upgrade it for me. :D
