Oh, you know, the one that likes to twist stories into it's own biases. Up to and including missing out large chunks of the story, glossing over inconvenient parts and outright lying in the titles.

You know. The Daily Fail..

My place of work, ASDA (Walmart), has tomorrow and tomorrow only to get it's shit together. If they don't, they'll be handed my resignation letter.

I'm so fucking tired of them. I really am.

I feel the need to vent again.

Please, if you are being a customer, do not go up to the till operator/cashier and do any of the following-

-Make a comment that they looked bored, so you're going to come to them.whilst at the same time ignoring their greeting. It's not amusing, and reminding them that they're bored is only going to irritate them, especially if you then remain silent for the rest of the time and stare at them. If you really want to alleviate their boredom, strike up a conversation with them, about anything. We all like that. Shoving what's part of their job anyway under their noses and claiming that'll relieve the tedium is idiotic.

-Bad jokes. Leave them at home. If you ever get tempted to say, 'i made them earlier, are they good ones?', 'Has the ink dried?' or anything along those lines, don't. It's probably been said more times than there are people living on this planet, and it IS NOT FUNNY.

-Don't ask them when they start and when they finish, it's creepy. Asking how long they've been at work and/or how long they've got to go is slightly less so, but not by much.

-Pointing or whistling at people to get their attention whether they're on a till or not, is rude. It's also unnecessary, since you can usually walk up to them or say 'excuse me?'

-Bags. Ugh. Is it really so hard to ask for one? Is it really that unbelievable that some stores don't automatically do do everything for you that you have make snide comments about the store not doing bags! Just ask. It's not hard, and it is appreciated.

-If you have a complaint, complain t6 the managers, not the captive till audience. They can't do anything about it and all you'll do is make them feel awful for the rest of their shift because of that-and being on a till is stressful enough as it is.

I can't wait to hear back if I've got an interview with the Council for that admin job and leave this place.

Well. This week has been interesting for a larp group. And I mean interesting in a bad sort of way. The guy running it is resigning at the end of the larp year.

I love this particular system to bits, and the last thing I'd wanna do is see it fail, quite the opposite so I did what I felt was the only thing to do. I offered to take it over.
It makes sense, I'm based in MK where we run, I've got a LOAD of free time, I'm easy to get hold of and I'm already happy to do lots of extra stuff for the club as it is. But do I want to take over...? Well that's tricky. It's a lot of hard, thankless, but rewarding work. I would need to make sure any adventures I wrote (most of them) were not only up to snuff but on time WITHOUT FAIL. I need to make sure the insurance is sorted out. But the thing I'm dreading most, if I do take over?

I'd have to effectively say goodbye to my characters in the system. And I'm not really okay with that.

But this is the thing, It's really looking like it's that, or the system dies forever. And then I'd have to do it anyway. We've had one other person offer but... well there's potential issues with that person running things, and I think most people would prefer I do it. The people I've spoken to would certainly indicate that.

There's gonna be a lot of cool stuff about taking over if I do. But there's some scary stuff, and quite a lot of sad stuff too. But I wanna see the group grow and thrive, not die because someone could have done something, but didn't.

Just wanted to get that off my chest I guess.

It is your destiny, fair traveler. This task is one that no other can do. Yes, it may mean sacrifices. Yes, it may mean the death of your beloved characters.

But it would mean the life of thousands, man. Go, embrace your fate! Never forget that your courage is what allows them all to liiiiivveeee~~!!! :D
