"I'm... perfectly fine," Vito began, his initial fear that somebody else had noticed that something was up was quickly replaced by confusion as to why his desk was floating. "But it seems that my desk is not. Is this meant to be some kind of signal to tell us to go to our next class? Are our desks meant to accompany us or perhaps lead the way?" He quickly checked his
schedule for the day, which indicated that he had Evolutionary Biology up first. He was quite looking forward to this class, as he had heard that with their bloated budget this school had some amazing simulators to show students how evolution worked first-hand. To be able to witness millions of years of change in less than an hour was something that he was most eager to try.
He looked about, intending to ask if anybody else would be joining him for what would no doubt be an enthralling subject, but he immediately noticed that many others were looking very confused about their floating desks, and didn't seem to have jumped to the same conclusion that he had. Perhaps Miss Listner could enlighten them?

Miss Listner looked at the desks. "No Vito They are not supposed to be floating, even with the high technology this school has, each class has specific desks for it's required classroom"
Lily sighed waking up more. "The desks only float if enchanted by someone else, not on their own, Father figured it was too much work" She said too tired to talk normally as she blinked a few time. "Besides, first period should be starting up in a few minutes anyways...meaning I have to go get changed" She stretched a bit.

Paola remained deep in her own thoughts of flight, indeed to look at her you'd think she was daydreaming.
"um miss the tables Floating"
Daisy!s confusion and slight fear tugged at her attention, but not quite enough to snap her out of replaying the disartrous first day of her life. It wasn't exactly a memory she was fond of either.
"But it seems that my
desk is not. Is this meant to be
some kind of signal to tell us to
go to our next class? Are our
desks meant to accompany us or
perhaps lead the way?"
Mmm, class? Oh yes, that's right, she was in school...
"No Vito They are not supposed
to be floating, even with the high
technology this school has, each
class has specific desks for it's
required classroom"
There was that floating word again. What was floating, why was everyone talking about that?
"The
desks only float if enchanted by
someone else, not on their own,
Father figured it was too much
work"
Oh, the desks were floating... Wait, the desks were FLOATING? Finally, Paola snapped back to reality, and in her doing so every single desk in the room fell back down to the floor with a loud crash. The strange little girls pretty face went bright red with embarrasrment immediately afterwards, this and her lack of confusion as to what was going on clearly marking her as the culprit in this particular incident. Of, course, the embarrassed and guilt laden "Umm, sorry" was a fairly good indicator as well.
((Psychic+thinking about flying=things float XD
EDIT for phone spelling. Grah!))

"I'm... perfectly fine"
Despite Vito's statement, the slight look of fear reflected in his eyes made Lucas think that maybe that wasn't entirely true. However, he also had a feeling that it might have been best to drop the topic if Vito. His attention was soon brought back to the fact that his desk was still floating.
"Are our desks meant to accompany us or perhaps lead the way?"
Lucas looked over at Miss Listner when he heard Vito's question. It seemed plausible since it was Magic Tech High, even if the idea of a desk leading the way was a little amusing. He was a little disappointed when he found out that wasn't the case because the concept sounded like it could be fun. However, any other fantasies he had about floating desk were abruptly cut short when the desks were suddenly hit the ground again with a loud thud.
A small smile appeared on his face when he heard Paola's apology. He couldn't help but thing to himself that her reaction was adorable. "It's alright. There was no harm done," he told her quietly. The incident reminded him that he would need to make a mental note of everyone's abilities. His own were nothing to brag about and he had a feeling, unless he wanted to skip class, that he wouldn't have a need to use them.
He looked at his own schedule then as he guessed that homeroom was nearly over and was instantly cheerful when he noticed that his first class was gym. That was certainly a good start to the day for him. It took a few minutes longer to remember that Lily said she had to get changed. Although he hadn't remembered packing in a spare set of clothes for gym, he found his grandfather must have stuck them in his bag while he wasn't looking. Now he just had to figure out where the changing rooms were since his desk wouldn't be guiding the way. Thankfully having an interest in technology meant that he could easily figure out how the screens worked.
Lucas waited for everyone else to move to indicate class had actually ended before taking his leave. He stretched a bit, but looked behind him when another guy that had been in his homeroom tapped him on the shoulder. "Hey, you're doing gym, right? Can you take pictures of Lily in her gym clothes for me?"
"Why would I do that?" Lucas asked as he pulled away from the male. He smiled a bit to himself when he heard the words to express his disappointment. No matter how good looking Lily might have been, he was only concerned about having fun in his favourite subject. It hadn't occurred to him that other people could have other motives for participating in it too.

"I can't imagine that she'd be able to come up with a gym ensemble any more revealing than what she had on mere moments ago." Vito scoffed to the boy who was trying to rope Lucas into doing him a less-than-honourable favour. "I don't know which is worse; her prancing around in such outfits or you drooling over them. Do you have any idea how much money it costs to be here for just five minutes?! Away with you!" For somebody of such unimposing stature Vito could have quite a commanding attitude when necessary it seems, and his classmate, feeling that this really wasn't worth the trouble, wandered off with his camera. Whether or not he was actually going to class was anybody's guess, but Vito couldn't imagine that anybody would skip class after a verbal berating like that.
Chastising this classmate felt good though, probably because it made Vito feel like he wasn't the most obvious one to notice Lily Frost.
"Now, on to Evolutionary Biology!" His mood perked up even more, for he had been looking forward to this class. His computer screen indicated that, yes, it was time for class, and a map appeared on it to show him how to get to the classroom that they would be using. "Is anybody else enrolled in this enlightening class?"

Lily Frost just laughed as she went to the women's change room getting her locked as she put the virtual pin code in as she smirked the code answering only to her fingerprints as she watched it swing open and stop her clothing being put in s she pulled out her black leather bikini top that covered her breasts but only just as she grinned. "I love Gym class" she Stated as she pulled off her skirt with ease and slid on her tight yet movable leather short shorts that were barely there as she made sure she could bend over.
Her hair was being braided as she had it in a pony tail then she braided it over her shoulder and once she finished she had tied it up and let it swing back finally pulling out her shoes and starting to do up the all black sneakers that suited her outfit rather well the laces tight on the shoes her bows on the shoes being just as tight as she straightened up walking to the gym which was only a few feet from the change rooms the men's across the hall from the women's

Paola red face faded somewhat as Lucas told her that it was alright because no harm had been done, at least she didn't have to worry about him. But she wondered about the others. Well, there wasn't really much she could do about it now so she may as well forget worrying and just get on with going to the first class like everyone else. The boy with the camera that had asked Lucas about getting a pictture, and had then got berated also earned a weird, slightly puzzled look from her. She couldn't help overhearing, of course, the Theiskore boz was as good as sitting next to her and the Serpells boy actually was Fortunately she didn't have to venture into the daunting computer realm again, as Vito Serpells asked who else was enrolled in what she recognised as one of the subjects she was taking. "I am, Vito" she answered, quite evidently pleased that she wasn't going to have to be there with people whom she hadn't even introduced herself to yet. There was also a hint of excitement, her earlier enthusiasm showing itself once more "shall we go?"

Lucas smiled nervously while he listened to Vito tell off the boy trying to get him to take pictures. He was more intimidating than he had first appeared. Still, it saved him from being pestered by his classmate further and gave him a chance to slip away without receiving anymore strange requests. "Thanks," he said quickly to Vito, not really having time to check if he had heard or not because he was already a little late. He followed the path that his computer showed him to the changing rooms and managed to find his locker.
While he changed into a pair of black gym shorts and a white tank top, he thought about whether or not it was possible for Lily to put on something more revealing than her usual outfit. He was starting to believe that anything was possible with her. At least when it came to how little someone could wear and still have it count as clothing.
He shook his head and quickly tugged his sneakers, locked up his belongings and headed to the gymnasium, no longer dwelling on those thoughts. As long as all the males in his gym class weren't as slack jawed as his classmate when it came to Lily, he'd be able to have a fun time. That's all that mattered to him. However, he did hope at the back of his mind that Lily was, in fact, wearing clothes.

Lily was waiting in the gym as she already started to do stretches even in her bikini styled top and short shorts her toes pointed and her body flat on it, a rather flexible girl as she moved and twisted. She knew it was likely to be dodge ball today after the quick briefing though the briefing was not overly hard.
The gym w as painted with soft yet, at the same time, bold colour red and had a white line running around the top much like a border. The floor looking to be finely finished hardwood though finished to make taking off scuff marks easily. The risers pushed in all but the bottom one and the room being a rectangle with places to put poles and everything a rather retro look for such a high tech school but it gave it more of a familiar feel for a gym than anything.

Paola was the only one to actually respond to Vito's question, which he was actually a little grateful for. Why were so many of his classmates so unfriendly? He couldn't imagine that only he and Paola were enrolled in this subject, so the only conclusion that he could draw from this was that nobody else wished to speak with him... Either that or they were all just really shy.
"Yes." He responded, a little downhearted, but he reminded himself that one friend was better than none, and it was kind of hard to feel anything other than excited for this no-doubt enthralling class so he very quickly cheered up again. "According to the computer, the classroom is this way."
((Forgive me for taking a large amount of control over this roleplay in the remainder of my post but it's going to be difficult to move things forward if rosebarks has to RP every teacher. I have already asked her for and received permission to roleplay as some teachers, so hopefully there will be no problems with this
))
It was not a long walk, and soon Vito found himself in the classroom. It was just as impressive as he'd heard (though a little messier than he'd have thought), and the magnificent simulation chamber dominated the centre of the room. "Greetings. Please enter the room in an orderly fashion and be seated." An electronic voice greeted the students as they entered, and several of the tables closest to the simulation chamber lit up. "As you do so, proceed to one of the designated tables. Introduce yourself to those you are sitting with, for one of the first and most important part of being a good scientist is to always remain on good terms with your colleagues. Please keep in mind that this is not a request, but an order from your teacher. Much of our work this year will be conducted in pairs or groups, so do not consider it a waste of time."
The last part of these instructions struck Vito as being a little oddly authoritarian, but it didn't seem like a very unusual command, and it wasn't like he didn't want to get to know others better. Now all he needed to do was pick a table... Each table could seat a maximum of nine students, and there were dozens of tables to choose from, but only a few were lit up. Why were there so many more than what was needed? Strange, but not exactly a question that he desperately desired to know the answer to, so Vito looked about to decide upon one of the designated tables.
Students were already taking their seats, nervously greeting each other and such. Vito's sharp eyesight caught much of interest to him, but he quickly narrowed his choices down further to three tables. One had several young humanoids grouped together who all looked like a rather friendly bunch, if rather uniform and unwilling to allow non-humanoids to join them. He would fit in perfectly with them, and the odds of them rejecting him were rather low, though he wasn't sure if he wanted to be a part of a group that would shun others based on race, genetic background and/or appearance. The second group seemed significantly smaller, however it had a greater variety of alien students present, appeared to be much friendlier... and was all-female. He wasn't confident enough to approach this table alone, but for some reason the idea appealed greatly to him, and perhaps Paola would like to join up with some other girls? The third table would be an odd choice, with only two other students currently sitting there, one of whom, an avian humanoid of some variety, was glaring at either him or Paola rather intensely. It was neither friendly nor unfriendly, but conveyed a burning desire to draw them closer that was strangely compelling.
"Shall we sit together Paola? Or would you rather work separately and compare notes later?" Vito asked the only other person that he knew in the room. He did want to join her, but there were merits to splitting up to explore more during classtime too. "I've narrowed my choices down to three tables, but if you'd like to work together and you have any place in particular that you'd like to sit then feel free to lead the way."
((Let's get to studying Swix! Feel free to meddle with the class and NPCs, and if you'd like to control the teacher we can talk about it in the off-topic chat thread

After Vito had said "Yes" to answer Paolas small question in a rather downhearted manner, she watched him almost immediately cheer up again with some amazement. Then he rushed off to the classroom, leaving Paola hurrying to catch up. Luclily for her, despite him having a headstart and her short legs she miraculously managed to keep him in sight, catching up just before they entered the classroom.
The strange little girl looked around the magnificent room with it's lit up tables and the simulator in the centre, quietly mouthing the word 'Wow' more to herself than anyone else.
Then the computer started speaking to them, making her jump slightly in shock. She certainly hadn't been expecting that, but at least the instructions were easy to understand. Paola looked towards the lit up tables-that must be where the wrong sounding voice wanted them to sit. Before following it's instructions though, she waited to see what he'd do... which was to ask her what she wanted to do. Paola swallowed lightly, nervously as she turned her head to regard each of the partially occupied tables. Most of them did not cause very much of a reaction in her, but the one nearly full of only humanoids, caused something of a dark shadow to pass over her features. "I would like for us to sit together Vito" she said, turning her silver eyes over the other tables until they rested m the aliens group. Smaller, but, probably friendlier and more open... and they were all girls too. Altogether, Paola was one of six siblings-or perhaps one of hundreds, depending on your viewpoint- five of which she'd grown up with, and only one of which was a sister. So, female company was rather appealing... But then she noticed the glare from the odd avian humanoid, though neither friendly or unfriendly she had to fight the urge to run away-whilst at the same time, she was curious to know just what made the other find whichever one of them he was staring at just so fascinating. She knew she was 'new' but, surely this was more than just the usual curiosity?
"Um, you don't mind if we both sit over there, do you?" she asked, indicating the most odd table in the room before making her way over to it. The intensity of the stare was rather unnerving so she didn't want to go over there by herself. It made little sense since her psychic abilities had protected her before, and she was fairly sure they wouldn't allow major incidents here, but she'd feel a lot safer if she had a friend with her.
"Hi" she said when she'd reached the table and sat down in one of the nine seats "my name's Paola. Who are you two?"

"I'm significantly richer thanks to you two!" The avian laughed, turning to the student sitting next to him. "Pay up." "Hmph. And here I thought you were all talk." She replied, handing over a small wad of cash. Vito gasped slightly as he finally noticed the other student here, for he couldn't understand why he hadn't seen her before - she was tall and serpentine, with a humanoid upper body that tapered off into a snake-like torso and tail, and she was quite vividly coloured. "Haha, you didn't even pay attention to her did you? Yes, join us! I'm Krii Klesta, of the Yellow Moon clan, and this is Natanga, of the Naga clan." "Referring to everybody as being part of a clan is unusual for most of us, Krii." Natanga replied, seeming fairly unimpressed with his grasp of the language. "Just Natanga will be fine. Naga is my species, we do not bother with family or clan names." She introduced herself to Paola and Vito, bowing her head and long neck slightly. "Bah, English! Such a frustrating language... I've only just had to pick it up recently, so advanced apologies for mistakes that I am no doubt fated to make."
"Well I've no problems understanding you, so you shouldn't feel too bad about it." Vito replied, sitting down at the table. "I'm Vito Serpells... Or Vito of the Serpells clan, if you prefer." "The Serpells clan? I've not heard this name where I come from, is it well known here?" Krii asked, tilting his head to one side. "They are a strange family, reclusive and steeped in mystery." Natanga replied, her slitted eyes narrowing as she looked down upon Vito. "Very skilled with medicines, but rumour has it they are completely Godless in their experiments, and consider nothing to be sacred." "Don't make my family sound so terrifying just because they're not religious." Vito replied, his eyes now glaring indignantly back at Natanga.
"Yes, yes, let's not make enemies when we can make friends." Krii interjected, a little worried that the two had immediately gotten off on the wrong foot. "Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself, Paola?"

Lucas shook his head when he arrived at the gym to see most the guys who had made it to class watching Lily closely while she did her exercises. At least she was wearing clothes though the term "clothes" may not have been the best way to describe it. Rather than joining the onlookers, he went over to the side and did some stretches of his own.
The noise that the gawking males in his class were making started to bother him after awhile. He glanced over at the doorway, wondering when the teacher or a supervisor would appear. Though he was a friendly, sociable person by nature, he wasn't sure how much more he could stand listening to the guys give a painfully obvious description of what Lily was doing and what she was wearing. It made him wonder if any of them took the class to do physical activity or they were all there to see what the girls would wear.
"Ah they'll get over it after awhile. It might be unbelievable, but the look grows on you." The statement came from a fairly tall young man that appeared to be in his late twenties. He had golden eyes and slightly spiky, red hair with one earring containing equally red stones set in a small, metal band in each ear. His skin was pale and all but his golden eyes seemed to suggest he was a human.
"Are you the gym teacher?" Lucas asked quietly. The man looked quite fit and seemed to gain more attention from the ladies than he did. It seemed completely plausible.
"Hm? No, I'm just one of the supervisors. Gym class can apparently get a little rough at times so they need someone to fix up any bumps and bruises," he told him. "I'm Takuto Shibasaki, one of the doctors here."
"Oh. Well it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Lucas Theiskore," Lucas told him while he shook his hand and leaned back against the wall. "Does gym class really get that dangerous?"
"It depends on the sport." He wondered if the computer would give him details on his classmates in case there was someone he should look out for, but there was nothing.
Takuto patted him lightly on the back. "If you stay on everyone's good side, I'm sure you'll come out alright."
"I see," Lucas said nervously. "Thanks for the advice."
((I had briefly talked to Rose about making a school doctor/nurse, but as there are a significant amount of students in the school, I'm sure they'll be more than one of them around. Haha.))

Lily smiled. "hi Mr. Shibasaki" She said running over as she flipped her hair watching the guys, winking at the group of them as she giggled watching him. "So like you ready for like the best dodge ball matches ever?!" She asked smiling the excitement on her face was amazing. sShe loved gym, not just for the guys, but for the activity in it. She took it so she could have fun.

Paola fiddled a little with her dress, using her lower arms that she had rested on her lap under the table whilst the two higher ones were resting on the lit table top as the three interacted with each other. It seemed a fairly quick interaction, one that had her looking from the serpentine Natanga to Vito with a little worry, before Krii changed the subject and put her on the spot. Well, she supposed the... machine voice of the teacher had asked them to all do this, so it would have to come up sooner or later, even if she had preferred to do it later. Well, there was nothing for it now. "I guess you could say I, and my family, are complicated" she said, smiling a little sheepishly at the admission. Well, it was true, even if that statement did seem like a scapegoat "my father's a Morphffer from the Arachnid clan, and my mother's a Mutant with avian abilities. So, if we're going for full titles here, I'm Paola Leonards of the Arachnid clan. Mother calls us Mutamorpffers"
Paola paused, thinking of what she could add. It didn't seem like just saying that was telling very much about herself, she should add more and ask the question that was burning at the back of her mind to Natanga afterwards. "I was a part of a clutch of ten, but only six of us survived. I have three brothers and a sister, but only one brother and one sister came with me and mother here. Father and the oldest and youngest... I don't know where they are, I guess father must be teaching them or showing them things. Or maybe he took them home to meet his clan.... and I don't know what happened to the spiderlings, they left the nest immediately after hatching"
She said, then tilted her head when she realised that she should elaborate more on her strange choice of wording, since she'd described the sixth as plural and a single entity at the same time "Oh, the spiderlings hatched from one egg, mother says there were too many to count, but they all shared a collective consciousness so you can pretty much refer to them as one or many. But I never met them, I wish I had" she stopped, sighed a little and continued "My siblings are all bigger and stronger then me, physically, I'm the runt of the clutch, but that means I'm stronger mentally. Mother says it's a tradeoff in her species"
She stopped again, hoping she hadn't gone on too long and that she hadn't bored anyone. Possible but probably unlikely for those enrolled in this sort of subject. "How about the rest of you?" Then she turned to Natanga, now she'd answered Krii she wanted to have her question answered. "Is there... something wrong with not having religion? Noone in fathers line has ever had it, and we don't either"
