The eight foot tall, bright blue insectoid alien opened her green eyes at the new voice, but didn't yet turn around. Instead she finished whatever she had been saying to the tree, and stroked the alien plant's bark lovingly before turning around to regard Serah and Fluffy.

"Yes, I am called Teacher" she said, the voice warm and welcoming, a stark contrast to what was lurking in the darkness. "Serah, Fluffy-a cousin I see. I welcome you-" the bright blue alien paused, staring at Serahs Translator "Is that-"
"Yes, it is" Lushik cut in before Teacher could even finish her sentence "we've already been through that"

Teacher clicked a mandible, then apparently found that satisfactory as she continued with her introduction. "I see. Well, I shall continue where I left off. Serah, Fluffy-welcome to our little safe haven-"

"Safe haven my tail" Lushik snorted, earning a glare from the insectoid and giving as good as he got.

"Is there a problem Lushik?" Teacher asked, her voice cool "Oh no, not at all, only that you keep calling this place 'safe' when those things come from here!"

"What are you talking about-" Teacher started, then was cut off again by the canid "Serah here saw them, crawling out of a hollow in the trees. Tell her what you told me!" Lushik gestured at Serah, then almost as an afterthought pointed his gun at the bright blue insectoid woman "Then you owe us both an explanation. Serah, you want to know what's going on here too, right?"

"Serah, Fluffy-a cousin I see. I welcome you-"

Fluffy Cheeped a Happy Cheep

Serah was a little confused

"Serah here saw them, crawling out of a hollow in the trees. Tell her what you told me!"

Serah Gulped then said in an Nervius Voice

"Yes I saw a Brantch fall off and there was a hole in the tree where the Brantch was, and some hook headed Lizerd Things came out"

"Then you owe us both an explanation. Serah, you want to know what's going on here too, right?"

She saw Lushik point the Gun at Teacher then Squeeked

"Uh, I want to know alot of things but is pointing a gun at someone realy to get you anywhere?"

She then sighed "I bet it sounds weird for a Human to be saying this..."

Fluffy did a confused nervius Chirp

The Artificer watched as the creatures dispersed, the various organic forms slinking away into cover and away from the destruction that lay before them. It Looked to the sarcophagus that had brought it here, and initiated some calculations.

After weighing up it's options, the Lord eventually opted for more support. Raw materials appeared to be scarce here, and gaining a foothold would be nigh impossible without more fire power. The Artificer began to rip the metal apart, and called on arcane energy to twist and change the metal to suit the Lords needs. The soldiers would make an adequate retinue.

Lushik was just as confused as Fluffy at Serahs last statement, as his kind and the two which had arrived here with them had never come across humans before. Not only did he not know that she called herself a human but he didn't know about humanity's tendencies to try to solve things by pointing guns at each other. He was just frightened-of this strange planet, of the unnatural and creepy things outside, of the creature he thought he could trust-at least up to a point-and now of the very environment around them.

"Err, what?" he said, staring at Serah in surprise "I don't understand. You're a 'human' and you think it sounds weird that you don't like guns being pointed at people? Why?" Lushik asked, then paused and added "Don't worry about it, this is serious. Well, Teacher? Tell us what you know about these things"

"Tell me what you want to know first" the blue insectoid said, her demeanour and even the voice that issued from the Translator around Serahs neck suddenly going cool and reserved-almost as if the female had been expecting this from the start "but I warn you, you probably won't like the answers". Lushik clearly hadn't been expecting that answer, for he was now scratching his head and thinking what to ask. If Serah had a lot of questions, now would definitely be the best time to ask.

At the crash site, Lykaios, hovering in his see through bubble above Anas native flora watched the reanimated finally retreat. The white wolf had been getting rather annoyed with their persistence, but it almost looked like there was some semblance of sense in the things. Even wild animals should learn not to stick their noses where it would get bloodied.

The Underling looked towards the Artificer, watching it bend and rwist the metal of it's crashed pod in an arcane manner, and let loose a long lupine yawn. If he hadn't made a deal and his partner hadn't assumed he'd be following him, he'd still be having fun listening to all the confusion of the mortals and adding to their woes. Now he was bored, waiting to see what exactly the robot wanted him over here for. Lykaios continued watching the process with an ancient yellow eye however, it seemed like the only semi-interesting thing around here other than the odd shapes the Monstrosities had taken.

Serah was a little unsure of how to explane her spicies without sounding bad, but as soon as Lushik said it didn't matter right now she felt a little less unsure

When she Heard what Teacher said Serah wonderd what to ask first she then asked

"Um, well... why are those Lizerds in those trees? Do the Lizerds make the trees move, or do the trees just move on there own?"

Fluffy cheeped curiusley then looked at the trees as they swayed peacefully and then at the big tree, Fluffy was a little curius if possibly the big tree was a form of a queen nest.

Fluffy then Flickerd it's antenni in attempt to possibly hear the commands,

If onley it could get it's antenni in the right position it might be able to hear them,
That is if there was any commands and it wasn't just Fluffy's primitive Imagination running wild about the trees and the possibility of the Lizerds having a form hive and Hive-minded connection...

Then fluffy realized somthing was wrong, Why was it wondring about things when usraley, It dosn't wonder about anything at all, and why was it notacing somthing was wrong?, Then again it remembers it's 'parents' Talking about it being a very fast learner evan through it's inteligence leval is low... whatever that ment.

Teacher leant against the large red tree, her hands clasped in front of her, looking almost casual despite the gun and the questions being asked her.
"Well, for if the hook headed lizard things make the trees move-the short answer is yes, they do. As for why, that is far more complicated than I could ever explain" Teachers eyes seemed to glitter as the insectoid stepped away from her spot, and then gestured to it a7 though inviting them to take her place "You will have to ask the trees-and leaqn to listen"

Around them, it was eerily silent and still-as the plants that surrounded them had stopped their peaceful swaying and were leaning in towards the small group instead.

Fluffy's searching antennae would eventually pick up very simple commands emanating from behind Teacher. ~Stop. Listen. Pay attention~

Fluffy did a slightley startled chirp and stopped it's antennae on the spot where it herd the commands and watched the tree,

Serah was a little confused and nervius as she saw the trees leaning towards them

Serah realy didn't belive trees could talk, but she did notace Fluffy was acting a little weird

"Um hi?" She said in a nervius tone to the tree as she walked towards it.

The tree doesm't answer, at least not in a verbal manner. The very largest and most magnificent of the red leaved trees instead seems to beckon her towards it with one of it's abnormally smooth, grey branches, and Serah would feel compelled to walk forwards more, along with an urge to touch it.

Meanwhile, the trees surrounding the rim are hushed, Fluffy would pick up nothing from them. But from the big one were commands-aimed at Serah. ~Closer. Closer. Touch. Make contact. Open. Open your mind~

Snoozing peacefully, CP the blob awoke some time later, even despite the odd tree's prodding. The Goo collected himself, noting that over time he had... run down a bit, almost imitating the formation of icicles on the otherwise warm day. With a swish, and a yawn, the alien looked up and around, peering through the trees to see where everyone had gotten to. He had hoped that they, like him had taken to the trees. They had turned out to be quite adamant protectors for him anyway.

It was then he noticed the swaying of the branches rather annoyingly getting in the way of his look out.... and there being no wind to speak for. He made a odd sound of confusion and slid down nearer to the trunk to see who was shaking his hiding spot.

No one gets away with... blowing his not exactly secret cover?

....He needed to work on better motives.

((Hmmm... ))

The smaller tree that had been trying to get the alien blobs attention beforehand had originally given up trying due to the blobs inactivity, but after Serah had shown up at the largest of the trees and the large ones commands, it began it's efforts energetically anew, this time shaking itself as well-and it was at this point that the blob woke up.

When blob CP slid down from his hiding place to the trunk, he'd see that there was noone there shaking the branches-no, the alien lifeform was doing this all by itself. What was stranger though, was the fact that none of the others around them was moving, they were all bent inwards, pointing towards the large one where he'd met the blue insectoid alien before. Clearly something was going on-and the impressions emanating from the single tree became more urgent, it was rather hard to make out just what it wanted. Pictures and words were not forthcomig from this one he'd 'befriended'.

Well this was certainly odd...

When the littlest blob 'o doom had gone to search the tree for hooligans.... he had found nothing. No, it must have been the tree itse- That couldn't possibly be right.

The blob slid down the trunk, moving slowly along the outside of the grove. All the trees... they bent at and angle holding a form, pointing towards the middle. The whole grove felt almost surreal, and he wondered if he just might still be sleeping. Following the trees, but keeping a distance, Cp eventually found the centre of the alien grove- a large red tree.

He wasn't going to just rush up and touch it or something though! He would keep his distance, for the moment at least. Plus it seemed there was already someone here...

Serah looked at the tree with a Amazed look then slowley reached out to touch the strangely Smooth Branch

Fluffy Tilted it's head at the tree then at Serah then cheeped happily, Fluffy's Antennae Flickerd as it heard a swish sound then chosen to Ignore the Strange swish sound

Then it heard a odd confused sound and now it was evan more curious, It looked in CP's Direction with a confused look and chirped in a confused tone

The blue insectoid female tilted her head, staring at her 'cousin' Fluffy and apparently unconcerned as to what was happening between Serah and the largest tree-and Lushik was currently very confused, so was alternating his gun between said plant and the much taller alien. Teacher beckoned to where she thought Fluffy was looking, clearly asking for whoever it was to come closer.

When Serahs hand touched the unusually smooth grey bark of the tree reaching out to her, she'd feel a jolt-not a physical one, but one in her mind-as pictures and memories of the history of the red trees and the hookheaded lizards flooded her mind.

The oldest memory is a simple one, when these plants first began to commune with each other. There's not much to it, just an ever present feeling of growth and new companionship.

The next, much later on, there is danger and shared pain as another species rampages through their forests, decimating their numbers. That is, until a breed of native creatures that use the red trees hollows as their homes retaliate-attacking their assailants with the mass of their displaced colonies-and winning.

Over time, the lizard like creatures and the red trees come to depend upon one another, evolving ever closer until it could be argued that they were one lifeform. They even took on traits of each other-the trees could move as long as their Swarm remained safely undisturbed inside their hollow trunks-and the combined Swarm began to develop it's own collective intelligence, watched carefully by the much older floral one.

At some point along this path something wondeful and terrible happened-the Swarms learned to use the bodies of those they'd killed to protect their homes and slaughter any who threatened them. But in doing so they severed themselves from the guiding combined mind of the trees, and became lost to them. Eventually all the lifeforms on their homeworld bigger than a cat died and decayed away, leaving the two in peace for a long time.

Here the images and information stopped, though the tree was still touching Serah-apparently it thought this might be too much information and was allowing her to absorb it first and, possibly, think of more questions to ask.

Fluffy was curius about what Made the noise and crawled onto the edge of serahs shoulder, onley just hanging on as it tryed to see what was over there

Serah jumped as she felt a jolt in her mind and Fluffy fell off her shoulder and Fluffy cheeped startledley as it fell

Fluffy tryed to fly but it's wing hurt alot and it couldn't fly, so fluffy fell on the ground on it's side and did a sigh like chirp and rolled over back onto it's 'feet' and Chirped at serah with an annoyed chirp

Fluffy then climbed onto a rock and continued to look in the Direction of CP

Serah's onley reaction she could think of after what she just seen was saying "Woh" in amazement,

She didn't evan notace Fluffy fall off her shoulder

Serah would feel something else coming from the largest tree-happiness or the sensation of being pleased as the human took in all the information it had offered as an answer, then an urging before a single word, a command. ~Ask~ it said. She could just let go now of course if she felt that she had learnt all she wanted to learn, or she could stay and ask any other questions she might have. Meanwhile, the one called Teacher waited patiently and Lushik got more jittery as he saw Fluffy fall off Serahs arm unnoticed. Of course, she could ask questions of Teacher as well, if she wished to do so.
