Twas the night before Christmas

The night was dark, but then, all nights on Ana were. The planetary mass of Kata loomed in the sky, blocking out the light of the stars, much to the great pleasure of some of the worlds inhabitants.
The night wasn't quiet though, as there were still nocturnal creatures about.

There were brawls outside the newly opened inn, caused by those who'd been kicked out. The planets arboreal predators were stalking the forests, looking for fresh victims. Even the skies weren't empty, as a closer black mass than the planet above glided through the night sky.

This black mass was the dragon called Furnace, and though the cool air irritated scales used to heat and earth, he was enjoying the dark.

Furnaces sensitive ears first picked up the sound of... was that bells? Lots and lots of constantly, annoyingly, irritatingly cheerful jingling bells. Yup, that's what they were alright, the small ones he'd seen some of the soft-skins hanging inside and outside their dwellings recently. A slight breeze brought the scent of, well, deer, to his nostrils. The animals were the main scent, but there others mixed in as well: wood, leather, metal, something almost human, and a myriad of others that he couldn't quite make out. The mythical beast bared his sharp fangs and flattened his ears onto the back of his head. He knew who this was, had heard of him before, but he'd never realised the noise was so annoying.
He tried to ignore it, but, every second of that happy noise beating into his eardrums just made the evil reptilian angrier and angrier. Until "I can't take it anymore!" Furnace roared before pivoting on his wingtips, heading straight for the source of the sound.
His infernal eyes soon picked up the culprit. Many reindeer harnessed to a sled, with a sack full of things and a humanoid wearing a ridiculous red and white outfit driving them all through the sky, probably by some kind of magic.

The enraged reptilian and the magical transport collided in short order. The force of Furnaces impact sent the sleigh spinning, spilling all the gifts that had been sitting safely inside the sack mere moments and dislodging the humanoid too. Santa Claus fell from the sky to the ground that night, as did all the presents and the sleigh, scattering them about the world.

The dragon really didn't care about the mans screaming, as he'd got his jaw and horns caught in the terrified reindeers harness, writhing and twisting until it snapped, setting loose reindeer and dragon alike. Furnace didn't halt his madness for long at his freedom, as the dragon soon set off in pursuit of the loose reindeer.

((Heh, hope you guys didn't think you were getting away without a Christmas RP this year, even if it is a little late :P. I haven't killed Santa, before anyone asks XD.

Apart from that though, the rest of this is entirely up to you))

((EDIT: Ok, after chatting with CP about this he's made me realise there are a few things I should probably point out, since I want this to be a totally free RP. You can find the presents of anyones chars, they don't even have to be involved with the RP, or even just find ones for your own chars [I see Jodie's already got this part though ^_^]. You guys also get to pick who the presents are for and what's in them, if you like. Or maybe you can come across an opened one, it's entirely up to you.

You can also even find Santa if you want to, just bare in mind he'll probably be injured after that sort of fall. You can even RP as Santa or the raindeer if you really want to, as again, this is meant to be a totally free RP.

I hope that clears everything up and I haven't missed anything.

Oh, I'll also only be playing Furnace, unless someone else feels like dragging any of my other chars in here for... whatever reason :P))

Grass Lalayo Amaka, a Plainsfolk Lalafell who was taking a nightly stroll through a forest jumped starteldly and jumped into a bush instictivley when she heard the roar of a extreamly angry sounding dragon.

She was shocked at what she saw, and couldn't belive it even though her own eyes saw the whole thing, what snapped her out of the state of shock was one of the presents falling on her head.

At that very moment Grass let out a scared squeak and started running as fast as she could and thaught 'This defenetly is not good, not at all!', she was in such a panic she forgot to put the present down after she removed it from her head and was carrying it as she ran.

((T'was the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring 'cept CP, the electic mouse... :D))

A cold breeze rolled through the window of an overly wooden room, giving it's occupant a chill. It was a bit nippy that night in the Encampment, and Coolpikaaa wondered if it just may snow. The weather conditions in this new land were baffling- he hadn't even seen it rain paintcans once since he arrived!

The small tenant shifted from his attempt to steady an uncooperative pine tree branch to close the window. Clearly homemade decorations, along with paper snowflakes, and even a small string of garland, moved with the touch of winter.

That was odd...

Coolpikaaa stopped, cocking his head to watch a small red light streak across the horizon. It bobbed every once and a while, as if it was simply walking on the sky. Mesmerized by the sight, and filled with an odd since of glee he couldn't quite place, Coolpikaaa slammed his window and rushed out the door.

Hopping down the stairs two at a time, the grinning electric mouse dashed past crowds of drunken merry men, humming a holiday tune. Could it really be him?! Could he have followed them here as well?!

Crunching across the frosty lawn, Cp once again located the light. It was closer now! Santa Claus was coming!

The light grew closer, then suddenly dipped. It seemed almost fine at first... But then the whole mass just seemed to come apart. Tiny shadows, followed by several larger pieces seemed to scatter everywhere. It only took seconds before the red light had dipped so low it was now out of sight.

Coolpikaaa stood there still watching the sky, as if it had all been a trick. Minutes passed and the wind howled menacingly. Fearing the worst, the heartbroken electric mouse ran into the woods, looking for anything...

Since the loud voice of the dragon had sent Grass running one way, and the sight of the red light falling had sent Coolpikaaa running the other, they would find that they would meet in the middle. Probably some way into the forest.

And they would soon be joined by one terrified looking reindeer, whose abrupt stop, darting eyes and nervous fidgeting sent the clear message that it didn't quite know what to do next.

Epilogue:

That Christmas would not be ruined for everyone, as CP and Grass were quickly on the scene of the broken sled, terrified reindeer and injured Santa. It wouldn't take them long between them to repair the vehicle, find the lost reindeer and then call in the help of a few of the citizens of The Encampment to find all the lost presents. They didn't have to contend much with Anas predators, as Furnaces enraged presence so close by that night had frightened most of them away from the area.

As for Furnace himself, well, after getting himself tangled in the reigns he'd retreated back to the place referred to as The Lair, where after struggling for a while he finally managed to get the harness off of him and, highly embarrased by ES who'd been woken up by the noise and then watched him purely so she could point and laugh at his humiliation the dragon retreated deep underground. So deep that noone could follow him, where lava met darkness the dragon slept there, with his body half in and half out of the liquid rock. Until he heard those annoying happy bells again that is, though this time he tried to ignore them. He'd have to worst night's sleep of his entire life that day and wouldn't show himself to anyone for at least a week afterwards.
