((Me and Mist were talking about this and so, here it is))
Somewhere in the Pax system, there is a huge forest of red trees that once caused an outbreak of reanimated aliens. They have been forgotten since the outbreak passed on, rendered to their natural passive state once more, the bodies have rotted into uselessness as one by one they fell onto the ground around the red trees. This will be the story of their rediscovery, and how they would interact had the branches not been damaged.

Thorn-Dancer was on a mixture of hunting, and exploring. She was sitting on the branch of an ordinary tree when something caught her eye... A forest of red? "Interesssting..."
The Floran tilted her head at the sight and then climbed down the tree and headed in the direction of the bizarre forest, she was curious over what she saw and why that part of the forest looked so different from the rest of the forests on Ana, both exited, yet weary over what she may find there... She never heard of a red forest being mentioned before, that was for sure.

Skathi, being on a side-trip during her time on Ana, decided to scout out an odd area that she head from an odd hermit who blabbered about it. This strange forest would be first for the huldra in her years. The idea of such a place intrigued her immensely, figuring it might holds some useful samples to collect whilst there. "Not much-Ah, here we go," she said to herself, spotting the Red Forest up ahead. Whatever secrets it may hold, they would soon be re-discovered.

The bizarre red forest remained where it was in the distance, coming closer as the Floran went towards it, and the huldra too, roots firmly planted in to the ground. Though the branches of the trees themselves waved without wind, it seemed like a relatively normal, if discoloured forest.

Thorn moved closer, looking up at the closest trees outside the forest with curiosity at the odd movement of the branches. "Fasssscinating..." The Floran chirped, walking over to a tree to examine it, wanting a closer look.
"Sssmooth grey bark, and ssstriking red leavesss..." She analysed from what she saw, tilting her head. "Movement... Without wind? Perhapsss living thing like coral?" She speculated to herself.

"Perhaps so, Thorn-Dancer"
Landing on the ground near the Floran, the curious huldra looked up at the trees as well. They were far different than any she had seen before in terms of this behavior. "This is something new to both of us then. Wonder why no one has bothered to mention this place in the Encampment?"

Once close enough Thorn would likely be able to feel telepathic signals coming from each and every tree within the red forest, everyone of them talking to each other. The tree she was closest to would start to bend over from above, shading the Floran from the sun.

Thorn paused, sensing the telepathic signals... But then heard a voice, one not in her head.
"Perhaps so, Thorn-Dancer"
She then turned to Skathi "Hi Ssskathi, and Floran not know why-" Notices everything grow darker and blinks. "Uh" She then spun around and leaped out from under the shade. "Oookay then..." She chirped, staring at the tree confused... Was it competing with her for sun? If so, the Floran was glad she was much more agile than 'Bendy' here... Even though she could last quite a while without sunlight. "Tree... Bend?" She asked, very confused.

The red tree the Floran had dubbed 'Bendy' bent back up and resumed it's peaceful waving without wind, in perfect sync with the other trees.

Skathi stared at the flexible foliage, scanning with her eyes to notice any odd magical nature of 'Bendy' and the rest of its kin. "Looks like it. No idea for why though," the huldra inferred. "Could be trying to 'neutralize' your chance at growing in fear of competition... or possibly thinking the sun was too harsh currently. Believing you need a break from it"

"... Floran already fully grown physssically" Thorn commented, tilting her head "Posssibly, though Floran like sssun, asss long asss it not like in desssert" She added, watching the tree bend up with curiosity.
"It... Odd, all them ssstrange... Think hear whissspersss? Yess, whisssperssss between them, in head." Thorn mumbled, perplexed by this. "Bendy treessss that whisssper mentally?" She mumbled, looking to Skathi in hopes she can hear it also, and it isn't just the Floran having spent too long in the Temple of Insanity.

"... There is something alright," Skathi mumbled, briefly catching the subtle sounds in the mental wavelength traveling between the 'trees.' The fact of such perfect sync stood at odds of how a forest should normally respond in nature as far she knew. She pondered over unnatural quality to them... and the lack of any animals larger than a foot in length.

The Red Forest simply waved in sync, against the wind, whispering mentally to each other. The alien forest also seemed to give off a sense of 'watching' them from within.

Thorn nodded in agreement with Skathi and watched quietly, though then attempted to communicate. "Hello?" She said nervously, looking up at the trees curiously and waves... She did notice the oddities, such as the perfect sync of swaying, the very small wildlife and... Most disturbingly, the feeling of being watched coming from deep within the forest.

Stopping it's swaying, the closest tree to them made itself twist before making a single one of it's branches wave up and down, the whispering within increasing in intensity.
"You two should leave here you know" the voice of Lushik, the canid that had been rescued floated over to them. "People don't understand these trees, and when they don't, REALLY bad things happen"
