Character events can be defined as something that builds a relationship between two or more characters OR as an interaction that significantly or marginally improves or worsens the relationship between two or more characters. Events can be short or long-winded. Metaphorically, these events can be used to build friendship points (FP) between two or more characters. They can also be used to obtain items, including those which are usually unobtainable by other means.

You saw Icey in the town square.

She seemed to be wandering aimlessly at the time, so you tried to catch her attention.

As soon as you tried to speak with her, she smiled but ran off without saying a word.

You spotted Icey coming out of the café.

They seemed a little despondent, so you held their hand as they walked.

You picked up both of the noisy twins, whom before had seemed quite happy playing together.

They squirmed in your arms as you hugged them.

"Dollies!" you squealed.

"Not a dolly..." one of them mumbled.

The other, dressed in black and white, squeaked in response.

Nevertheless they seemed to enjoy the attention.
