((Well, I did say the RP had a plan, didn't I? However, since said RP is not yet finished and I'm not giving anything away about the plotline for it just yet, here's a little tidbit just to whet your appetites))
An alien, a preacher, looked up from his spot on the floor of the magnificent temple he was currently kneeling on the lush carpet in. His robes were glossy, like silk, and hung down to his ankles. His hand clutched around an ornately carved staff that was higher than he was at full height, the holy man pulled himself upright, standing at a full six feet tall, his eyes fixated on something ahead of and above him, rather than the equally ornate altar table that was standing in front of him.
It was so peaceful in here, so serene with the banners on the pillars barely moving, the light of the blue sun coming through the stained glass windows that he could almost forget the screams of terror that had made their way inside. The cries of pain, of horror, of despair were but a memory. They had all stopped a short while ago, replaced by silence. Only the occasional shuffling walk of the flesh by those who were unwillingly saved left behind. It was... Divine.
"Have I done well, my Master?" the alien asked, his voice echoing in the impressive building. A different voice answered, echoing as well "Yes you have, my servant. You have pleased me greatly"
The holy mans golden eyes lit up at this wholly unexpected praise, his Master was not often pleased, never mind greatly. "Thank you Master, thank you. May I go now? May I join my brothers and sisters?" he asked eagerly, but his Master took a long time to answer. The priests expression subtly changed, he hoped he had not said something to offend.
"You may" his Master answered, lighting up the aliens eyes again "but first your reward"
"Reward? Master, I-" "Your reward is this. You will never see the horrors you have subjected your brothers and sisters to. Or anything ever again" These words were the last the holy man would ever hear, for as his mind filled with confusion and doubt, his body failed him. The alien collapsed in front of the altar, now just another body on a planet full of bodies.
It was glorious.
((There ya go, how'd you guys like my taster?))
