The world of Pax, only a few months old, was soon to descend into an interplanetary war.

There was a meeting. A great conference of every significant figure on the two worlds. Organized by an odd, shadowy figure who called itself an 'Aeloci'. The meaning of this word was unclear. Some of the more significant members of Pax were there;

The Frostwalker Chieftain, the leader of a barbarian tribe of orcs who had taken to colonizing the surface of Kata, ignoring the intense cold.
Kalshazzak, a powerful Psiot who governed over a large area of the forests of Ana.
The Onyx Empire, a group who, on their own world, had been soldiers in a great army. They were no less warlike than they had been.
Kurd, a kobold clan who was significantly more minor than every one else there, but the leader had continued to pester the Aeloci until it had finally conceded.
A group of human scientists, who were almost constantly in awe at the more magical parts of Pax, had coalesced to become the 'Ordo Nata'.
And finally, a diplomat from The Hive, who was equipped with an odd machine on it's back. When asked, they would insist that the machine lets them connect to The Web from a long distance.

At the head of the table was the shadowy figure, a vaguely female humanoid, who had a single wing, and a single glowing white eye. "Now." They said. "Let's get started."

Ten minutes later, there were roughly two sides, yelling at one another over various plights, arguments, and disagreements. The Shadowy figure had vanished.
On one side of the table was Kalshazzak. With him were the Frostwalkers and the Onyx Empire.
On the other side was The Hive Diplomat. With her were the Ordo Nata and clan Kurd.

It had all been going well until a comment by one of the Kurd kobolds was refuted by the Frostwalkers. Things descended awfully quickly. some of the others who had joined this 'meeting' were smarter than to join the sides.
The Diplomat was speaking through his machine, no doubt to his queen. The noise coming from it was squealing and whining loudly. Something on the other side was very agitated.

Declarations of war were made.

The shadowy figure, the Aeloci, despite not having a body, grinned. This war would select who the world would be owned by. The line was drawn in the sand. With a slight twinge of will, the members of the meeting would find themselves safe at home. It wasn't long until they prepared. Hive ships were built, golems were born, weapons were constructed.

Away from all this, on the plains of Ana there was a flash of... darkness? Anti-light? Well, whatever it was there was a flash of it, signalling a new arrival to Pax.

Where it happened a woman fell through, clad in a black dress with black boots and clutching a bright red bag that seemed impossibly heavy for it's size-as it created a deeper dent in the ground than it's owner when she fell on her hands and knees after the violent transport. The woman stood up, messy hair that possessed all colours yet still managed to look dull whipping in the wind as she produced an unusual piece of paper from inside the red bag. It wasn't white, but black, and had red writing scrawled on it. The short but slim woman scanned it with her hazel eyes, sighed and folded it, this time putting it in a pocket of her black dress before purposefully walking off in an apparently random direction.

Evil Swix had arrived.

And it would seem she had a job to do.

It hadn't taken long for the whole assembly to fall apart.

Coolpikaaa had watched the impromptu meeting with interest, hoping to come away with some new knowledge on the diplomatic process on this new realm.

And he had only gone away with disappointment.

He was back on Ana now, sitting atop of the dirt mounds of the Catacombs, watching the planet rise. The assembly had been a sham. It only took a few side comments to break the peace, and the Aeloci present had done nothing to calm the madness that had ensued.

And now they were on the brink of interplanetary war.

With a sigh, Cp watched the form of Kata grow, wondering what the races there had already cooked up. He felt saddened that this unneeded show for dominance was going through. But... that was it really. He had no ties to this world, other than his present stay on it. If things went well, he would be out of this system soon, and whoever ran the place wouldn't matter to him at all.

"Eh..."

That sounded bitter. Not his intention.

A flash of darkness in the distance caught his eye at that moment, pulling him from his thoughts...

The dark woman looked up at the sky as night of the world fell, bringing with darkness... and apparently a planetrise as well, blocking out the very stars. Now, that was interesting, and something she would certainly feel at home under. In darkness was the perfect place for what she had to do anyway.

She used the last of the light to look around her however-there was a mountain far off-that would be perfect for a part, but before she could get there she's have to go through a forest and in front of that... a camp of some sort? At least it must be judging by the smoke that was rising from several... burrows? What an odd place this was.

The dark woman shrugged and made her way over to the Catacombs, maybe there were a few people in here that could help her collect her ingredients, or at least knew of a way to the mountain that wouldn't take quite as long as it looked as though it would if she went by foot.

She barely noticed the rodent as she approached from the direction of the 'dark flash', not until she got much closer. her hazel eyes fell on the form of CP, and they narrowed until they looked like slits. "Oh no" she commented "you're the last person I expected to see here"

"I get around."

Coolpikaaa hadn't moved from his spot, but had watched the woman's progress, ever since her little light show had caught his eye. He had previously been acquainted with this evil-doer, yet another member of the glamorous council he oddly seemed to have way too many ties to.

Quite clearly, He needed to make better life choices.

"So, What'cha doing here, Rainbow Brite?" CP said, swinging his legs over the side of the mound. "And please try not to sound so glad to see me."

Unfortunately for the dark woman, her eyes couldn't get any narrower or she'd have to close them whilst looking at the bright yellow rodent. "Rainbow... Brite?" she repeated instead, looking even less pleased at this name than she was to see Coolpikaaa. "Oh don't worry, Rat, I certainly will not sound pleased to see you, since your comments are just as irritating as the last time we met"

She said, somewhat in a mood now as she folded her arms and glared at him "As for what I'm doing here-just a job" she said, smiling rather disturbingly "nothing major, I just need to collect some things"

She didn't say what or why, because quite frankly, she didn't really want him to know. ES pulled out the black piece of paper with the red writing once again, consulting what appeared to be a list "I don't suppose you know anything at all about native plantlife?"

(I'm assuming this takes place before The Collector in Pax's chronology.)

A scrawny, dark figure carrying a long double-bladed spear leaped from tree to tree, his feet somehow finding easy purchase on the smooth bark of the branches. Drevlin had been attracted by the anti-light, curious as to what would have caused such an anomaly in the 'divine winds'.

The new war that was going on was normal, Drevlin knew. Once so many races arrived on a new world, the world itself would be unstable. The Aeloci, or the Controllers, or the Puppetlords, or whatever word they use when they present themselves, would start a war. And then another, and another. The wars would burn out the races, and teach them how to deal with one another. The Warrior he knew, The Keeper he'd heard of. This new aeloci, however, was someone he'd never even heard whispers of. One wing? Female? Probably the Dancer or the Crier in different forms. The Fallen? Perhaps.

It didn't take long for him to find the new arrival to this strange realm; She was talking with a seemingly sentient rodent. So they knew each other. Interesting.

"You can almost -taste- the tension." The figure said, one end of his spear stuck in a tree as he hung off of it. Despite his face being hidden, he seemed like he was smiling jovially. "I know a bit about the plant life here, miss. What would you need? I'm an open book."

He pried the spear out of the tree, and landed on the ground, mounting the weapon onto his back, and knotted his fingers together.

Then he bowed.

ES turned her attention from CP to the creature that had just done a passable impression of a monkey, swinging through the trees like that. Then not only asked if he could help her, but bowed as well. She did not, of course, bow back, but rather studied him for a few more tense seconds-and glanced down at her paper again.
"Well, since you're offering" she said slowly "i need three things. Something native, something carnivorous, and something deadly poisonous. If you could at least describe these and where they live, that would be most helpful, whoever you are"

Markus had lost track of how long he's stayed with the Psiots. Days, weeks? He wasn't sure, and he certainly didn't care. It was something of a holiday for him, the only work he did was information gathering. The important things; the animals, the people, who wanted to stab up who... Recently he came across a rather large nugget of information. War was breaking out. A big one. Markus was gonna be a busy man that was for sure.

He prepared to head towards a larger population centre. Possibly some where a bit more diverse. Sure the Psiots may have need of his services, but why limit himself to just the Psiots?

The evil woman stared at the masked being for a while, wondering if he was going to say something. It was quite possible that he had a visor behind the covering, was talking to someone in his head, or was simply taking a long time to consider what the implications might be by helping her with her strange request. Either way, she was getting quite bored of looking at the same person. So she turned her attention elsewhere-and saw the figure of Markus approaching their little group of odd beings. Well, probably the settlement she'd been heading to. The mercenary also got stared at, before Evil Swix shrugged and looked down at her list to see if there was anything else she needed to do. The answer was yes, but nor was it something she could do or allude to doing whilst she was around other people. So for now she was stuck, much to her chagrin.

So, ES kept an eye on the newcomer after giving a sideways glance at both the rodent and the wooden puppet. "Friend of yours?" she asked. This man certainly didn't look like someone she wanted to end up in a brawl with at short notice.

"Nope." Said puppet said, looking over to the man. "I remember the psiots catering to him like he was a pet of theirs, but little else." He tilted his head. "The poisonous stuff is everywhere. Just look for the glowing, violet mushrooms at night and you'll find one. Now. . something native will be a lot more difficult."

"Oh?" ES answered the being, looking mildly disappointed and then frowning at her list "That's a pity, but then I wasn't really expecting this to be easy-and what about something carnivorous?"

She had no idea what a Psiot was and as of right now, she was curious. But it didn't seem all that important to her. On the other hand, she was completely new here "What's a Psiot?" she asked after a pause "And are they in the habit of keeping people as pets around here?"

"Ahem".

Markus had overheard the last part of the conversation, and whilst he wasn't a man full of pride he did draw the line somewhere.

"I was a guest I think you'll find. I needed somewhere to keep low and they took me in. Now I've never met either of you if I remember correctly so who the hell are you?" Markus drew his crossbow at this point "And how the hell do you know me?"

ES jumped at the mercenaries "Ahem" as she'd been too engrossed in her list and questions at that point. The black paper rustled at her sudden movement. Whilst he explained about being a guest the woman in a torn black dress glanced at the paper, visibly sighed and stashed it away in her impossibly heavy red bag. The language didn't phase her much, however the sudden appearance of a ranged weapon immediately caught her attention, her strange eyes resting on it as she took an involuntary step backwards. "I'm the person that got here only recently and was asking if anyone here knew who the hell you were" she said, both visibly knocking the question aside and mocking the way he was talking "and my name is Swix" she then indicated the wooden puppet monkey with a jerk of her head "he's the one who said he saw you with the Psiots-whatever they are. And by the way, who the hell are you?"

ES's eyes sparkled rather menacingly at this point, it was kind of odd for her to do this but she seemed to have taken more offence at Markus than at Coolpikaaas calling her 'Rainbow Brite'. Apparently drawing a weapon at the first meeting was her line. On the womans back, two small tendrils began to grow, starting very thin. She wasn't going to bring them out quickly and cause complete chaos, but she was damned if she was going to just stand here and not do a thing whilst someone else had a weapon drawn that was regarding her with such suspicion.

"Please, please, sir, put the weapon away. It's impolite toward the lady." said the strange, masked character in the black veils. He seemed almost. . malevolent as he continued; "And if there's one thing I cannot stand, it's being impolite."

He turned toward the woman with the backpack. "This is a new world, lady, and so either every plant is native, or no plants are native. As for carnivorous. . Does it need to be fresh? Because I may have a dried stalk of an Audreius Deus in my bag. Nasty thing, they are. Almost killed me."

(Bonus points if you can tell where I got the name for the Audreius Deus.)
