"Hi Lily. You seem to be capturing everyone's attention well," Takuto told her while smiling softly. "Well, I'm hoping that they will be friendly matches.
Lucas could feel the attention suddenly slipping on him now that Lily came over. At least the stares from the girls appeared to have no evil thoughts behind them. When Lily kept talking he snapped back into reality. "Dodge ball...?" he repeated quietly. Well if Lily was the one throwing the balls, he had a feeling that the games would be rather short. "I guess that's fairly straight forward."
"You were expecting something else?" Takuto asked with his attention back on Lucas then.
Lucas shook his head while he went back to stretching. "No, not really. I didn't expect the activities to be co-ed, that's all." Takuto's smile widened a fraction when he heard Lucas' reply. It may have implied more than he intended.
"I see."

Lily just laughed hugging him. "Be careful today Mr. Shibasaki" she said walking off as she laughed a little bit. "And you too" She said to Lucas with a smile. Once the game got going there was nothing about staring going on, it would he a harsh game.
It was then that the male teacher walked in blowing a whistle for everyone to line up. "Line up from storest to tallest. We're going to be playing Dodgeball today. now, I know that Miss Frost is here and yes we all know, as men, that she has an attractive body. But I expect there to be no one just staring, I want everyone to throw at least one ball today!" He said the other guys laughed at the statements and nodded.
"Yes sir" They spoke as one.
"Mr. Niwasagi.... Are there going to be team captains today?" She asked him tilting her head slightly.
"Of course Miss Frost. you and.... How about you there?" He asked having pointed to Lucas. that would mean they were on opposite teams.

Lucas nodded slightly when Lily told him to be careful. Compared to earlier, she seemed to be a lot friendlier. He glanced over at the doctor then, wondering if she had some interest in the older man, but decided to put the thought back into his mind when he heard the teacher come in and lined up with the others.
"now, I know that Miss Frost is here and yes we all know, as men, that she has an attractive body. But I expect there to be no one just staring, I want everyone to throw at least one ball today!"
He smiled, barely managing to stop himself from laughing, when he heard what the teacher said. Yes, he would definitely be able to get along with this teacher. Perhaps he would actually be able to have a proper gym class.

Lucas blinked when the teacher pointed to him. He smiled brightly, ignoring the squeals in the back of the class. "I'd be glad to, Mr. Niwasagi," he said. Of course he knew that would mean that he was on the opposite side to Lily, but a little friendly competition was always a good start to friendship. Or at least that's what he had learned from his grandfather.

"That is... A very in-depth explanation of who you are and where you are from." Krii managed to say, as the other two sat in a sort of stunned silence, "I was thinking more along the lines of interests and hobbies, but family history is important too."
"There is nothing wrong with having no religion." Natanga finally replied, deciding that a change of topic may be in order. "But understanding and respecting ethical and legal boundaries is very important. In some - not all, but some - social circles, the Serpells family has a much more sinister reputation. I've heard that there is literally nothing that they won't do to further their own agenda." Natanga hissed, turning to face Vito, her eyes narrowing once more. "The proof sits before us: how many siblings do you have, Vito?"
"That is not something I feel like discussing with you at the present time, Natanga." Vito replied coolly, apparently quite well-prepared for such questioning. "Yes, yes, there is no need to broach topics that some do not wish to talk about." Krii said somewhat anxiously, trying to prevent any further conflict between the two. He looked to Paola for help, hoping that she might pick up on this and help him to steer the conversation in a friendlier direction.

Lily smiled as she watched him. "Let the best team win" She said. It was obvious in gym she was more focused than in the halls as she picked a few people waiting for him to pick some as girls and guys alike started to go to Lily's team. She knew who to somewhat pick from being part of a few extra curricular activites.

Both pairs of Paolas arms were now fidgeting nervously, in fact so much so she'd actually brought them both up onto the table, and appeared to be playing an absent-minded game with her fingers and thumbs "I'm... getting this all wrong, aren't I?" she asked. Introducing yourself was easy enough but understanding what other people were on about on different topics was harder than she thought. "Family history is an interest but I see I went too far".
But once again, Natanga seemed to want to get into some sort of conflict or argument with Vito, though it seemed she had less of a problem with him and more of a problem with his family. And once again, Krii was attempting to stop them... but it didn't stop her from being a little confused. Why were morals, ethics and religion so closely related for the Naga? And why keep pushing someone because of a reputation... Wait, this was like...
"Stop it!" Paola said, silver eyes seeming to flare slightly as they narrowed, but she was mainly glaring at Natanga "Just because you heard something or someone has a bad reputation, that doesn't mean they're like it! You look like something I should be running away from or attacking out of defence, but you don't see me doing that, do you? There was a war because of peoples stupid preconceptions about each other. If you're so worried about Vito, maybe you should be nicer to him and stop asking him things you obviously know he's not going to want to talk about". Paola stopped, both pairs of hands had stopped fidgeting during that little outburst and were held together with such force her knuckles were turning white. She took a deep breath to calm down, closing her eyes and visibly stopped herself shaking. She wasn't exactly a stranger to arguments or being taunted until you burst, but there was something different in the way these two were interacting with each other, something worse. Slowly, she opened her unnatural silver eyes and deliberately turned her head to face Krii. "I'm curious, what's it like where you're from Krii? What's your clan like?"
She'd barely finished her sentence however when two other students joined them. One was similar to Natanga, in that he had a snakelike body and tail... but his head too was snake like, and his eyes a yellow colour... though completely devoid of any eyelids. His arms were odd too, very thin yet muscular at the same time, ending in hands with three long, thin fingers. As well as this, he had four arms, just like her, the little girl realised with wide eyes. He also seemed to be... changing colours, his scales turning from grey-green to a very light green when he approached their table and bowed his head "Greetingsss to you all, I am Trinrst" he said exceedingly politely, despite the slight hiss that was clearly some sort of accent "might I join your interesssting looking table? I'm afraid I don't much fancy the others"
"Nice of you to introduce us both" said a different creature sarcastically, this one not reptilian but rather something else entirely. She had short black horns atop her head, her skin was bright orange, and her double bent legs ended in three clawed toes. Quite large claws as well, one might even call them talons, though they certainly were on her three fingered hands. She also had a pair of batlike, if bright orange wings that she held closely folded to her back, and the very tops of her horns were slightly on fire. Her eyes though, were interesting, as rather than having black oval pupils they were white, whilst what should have been the whites of the eyes were black "you can call me Flaera, since Mr. Polite over here doesn't seem to want to tell you that. I'd tell you my full name but we'd be here all day if I did" Flaera grinned slightly, showing sharp teeth, and took a seat before anyone could say anything to the contrary "seems like the tables are starting to get more full"

"Let the best team win"
Lucas shrugged his shoulders and smiled in a way that made a few girls at the back squeal. "Winning is nice, but having fun is more important. Wouldn't you agree, Mr. Niwasagi?" he asked the teacher before he looked back at the other members of the gym class. It was obvious that he was at a disadvantage because he didn't know anyone in the class other than Lily by overhearing things and the doctor who may have to patch him up. However, it didn't really seem to bother him. While those who were left may not be the best, they still seemed enthusiastic.
"Hey, you're Lucas Theiskore, aren't you?" one of the boys on his team asked, holding out his hand to introduce himself. "I'm Klay Parche. I thought you might like to know that the guys on Lily's team are probably going to make us black and blue so we might like to start throwing the ball first." Lucas smiled nervously while he shook the blond haired teen's hand, starting to realise why Mr. Shibasaki might be called in to be an observer.
"Right. Thanks for the advice."
"Oh, but I'm sure they won't hurt the girls. Just the guys," Klay added on. "They might be a little intimidating, but they're surprisingly chivalrous. Though could mean that they'll be even harder on us.
"Thanks for that, Klay," Lucas said while he patted him on the back, hoping that it would quieten him. "I'll keep that in mind."
"Right." He shook his head and looked back over at the teacher then.
"We're ready."

Mr. Niwasagi smiled looking to Lily who just nodded and smiled. He blew the whistle and the match started as Lily jumped ahead and raced grabbing three balls handing one to a guy another to a girl who just grinned looking at Lucas while Lily seemed to dance. "Come get me every one" she said laughing.
Someone else on Lucas' team dove in front of him using a ball to deflect the hit as it was a null hit from ball to ball as they smiled. "Gotta play as a team" They said nodding. "name's Ni'tri" It was a girl, a girl who wasn't afraid to get hurt. "Bring is assholes!"

Lucas smiled and couldn't help but laugh when he heard what Ni'tri said. Apparently he had chosen some interesting people on his team. Although he wasn't sure if they'd actually win, it seemed like it'd be fun. He grabbed a ball and made sure that Klay or someone else was always on the other side of his target when he threw it to make sure that they didn't lose it again.
When he played along with everyone else he looked serious, but he still managed to have fun. It was hard for him to tell who was winning, but it seemed as though his team had removed quite a few of Lily's players and the same could be said for his own.
The doctor from earlier was watching the game from a safe distance while he patched up the light bruises on the students that were sent over to him.

Ni'tri just smirked as she got a few hits before Lily's eyes narrowed. "now...comes the part with Lily being maad. she hates being beaten...get ready everyone, girl's included!" she said taunting Lily while she danced around as they grinned at each other. apart from Gym class these two were good friends and Ni'tri , ni for short, was one of the few who knew the secrets of Lily's real life. the two started to combat teams back and forth the two grinning and enjoying the match now.

"Wars occur for lots of reasons, Paola." Natanga hissed cooly in reply to the small girl's outburst. "For example, when those in charge keep too many secrets, to the point that those they rule over feel that they have no choice but to end their rule by force."
It was a rather awkward moment for two new students to approach the table, but neither of them could have really known that. "Flaera and Trinrst, yes, please do join us! We are currently discussing homeworlds." Krii cawed excitedly, pleased that so many interesting people were coming to his table. "Forgive Natanga please Vito, she is no doubt simply riding high on the waves of revolution. Her people very recently emerged from a civil war after several revolutionaries uncovered secret documents that proved that the ruling government was doing a lot of things that it shouldn't, as well as doing and intending to do many things that it said it would never do." "We have little patience for secrets." Natanga nodded, approving of Krii's telling of her story. "And such duplicity is not welcome amongst Naga." "I'll be sure to keep that in mind." Vito replied, dipping his head slightly towards the two newcomers as he greeted them both quickly. "Vito Serpells, it's a pleasure to meet you both."
"To answer Paola's question," Krii said, seeing a nice opening to start talking about his own background. "My homeworld is surrounding by six moons, each quite capable of housing and supporting life, so we have lived in a golden age since travelling into space. While many world's must spend time unifying and going from a world of nations to a galaxy of worlds, we did not have nearly so much difficulty - the seventh, and the biggest, of the nations proposed that we unify with it, and in exchange it would allow each of our nations claim over one of these moons without dispute. They could have taken control over one or more if they had been willing to fight for it, being the most powerful nation, but they most graciously opted to use them to entice the smaller nations into agreeing to forming a world government."
"As my clan name would suggest, my clan is from the Yellow Moon. It's very nice there, the weather is always a summer-like warmness and the cities are full of friendly people. Being the closest moon to the planet we often act as liaisons between the seventh nation and the other moon clans, and so diplomacy is one of the more popular career choices. Both my Ma'er and Pa'er -ah, by which I mean my parents - are diplomats, actually, and with such high-paying and high-profile jobs they sought to send me to an excellent school like this in the hopes that I might follow their footsteps." Krii seemed to enjoy talking about his family and his homeworld quite a bit as well, and was clearly quite proud of them. "Ah! You see Paola, you are not the only one who can talk for such a long time about family!"
"Of course, some do not feel as comfortable talking about their families or backgrounds as others..." Natanga hissed, her narrow eyes lingering upon Vito once more. "If it will cease your incessant complaining I will, briefly, fill you in on my home situation Natanga, lest we have a civil war break out at this very table." Vito sighed, rolling his eyes. She was beginning to annoy him, but he felt confident that if he gave her what she wanted she'd back off. He was well aware of what he could and could not talk about with those who were not involved with his family and there was plenty that he could comfortably discuss with classmates. "I was born and raised as an only child by my dear old Desipad, much like any child of the Serpells family." "Erm, perhaps my confusion stems from my poor understanding of your language but... What is a 'Desipad'?" Krii interrupted, looking slightly embarrassed at being unable to follow the explanation. "Oh! Sorry, um, it's kind of a... nickname. 'Desipad' is short for 'designated parental drone'. He's a large genetically engineered insect specifically designed to raise me in the place of my biological parents, who are far too busy with research to raise all of their children." He immediately noticed that this got him a lot of strange looks from the rest of the students at the table. "What? It's not that weird... is it?"

Lucas made a decision that it was best to keep himself from being stuck between the two girls. He could tell that the two of them were close, but that didn't mean that there wouldn't be any friendly competition. Although he had only just met them, most of the students in the gym class seemed fairly decent, friendly people. Even if there were a few bruises here and there, the doctor wasn't doing as much work as he expected.
The numbers on both sides were starting to dwindle down to just a few. Although he hadn't looked like he would be, Klay was rather light on his feet. With him and Ni'tri on his side, Lucas' team managed to hang around lot longer than he had expected. While Takuto watched from the side, he wasn't sure if the boy had secretly noticed something or he was just that lucky. Either way, he seemed to be a rather interesting student.

Paola frowned lightly and appeared to chew her lower lip. What she hadn't mentioned was that she was quite familiar with wars, and not just that but with her unique memory it was as though it had been her that had experienced them, and not her father and his ancestors. Or her mothers brief but vivid experience on her homeworld of interspecies hatred. It was one of Paolas clearest memories from her mother, and she hated it so.
However she'd clearly talked too much about family and history, and now she was genuinely interested in the others stories.
Trinrst made a polite bow to them all after Krii had said it was indeed ok for them to join, whilst Flaera rolled her bizarre eyes at him. The Tezcan listened politely to Krii whilst the bright orange girl leaned forward with unhidden enthusiasm-though if you cared to notice Trinrsts bright green colour had faded almost instantly at hearing the word 'homeworlds', going from light green to dark blue with light blue spots instead.
Paola smiled at Krii when he exclaimed that she wasn't the only one who could talk for so long about family, happy that she and the avian boy had something in common.
Flaera again listened with just as much interest to Vito as she'd shown Krii, whilst Trinrsts scales swapped his light blue spots for orange ones. He, Paola and Flaera all stared at Vito in apparent mild shock, the Tezcans scales turning silver.
Paola shrugged her small shoulders "I.. don't know" she admitted, frowning "I've never really spoken to anyone other than family before today. Is it weird?" Flaera nodded her head lightly, the flames on her horns dancing to her movement "My kind raises it's children over hundreds of years, I admit I've never heard of that sort of parental behaviour"
"Actually" Trinrst spoke for the first time since he joined the table proper, scales now regaining their orange spots "I do know of a race that leaves their children in communal nursseriesss with appointed carers immediately after they become ssseedlingss... But they are plantsss and their parentsss have nothing to do with them after. Your sssituation sssoundss sssimilar, Vito" Trinrst paused here, then lightly shrugged his top shoulders "but everyone treats their offspring differently"
Paolas frown was now directed towards Trinrst, Flaera thought that the Serpells boys situation was weird-and wasn't shrinking away from saying so, but Trinrsts statement answered nothing at all. Why would the serpentine being do something like that?
"Know of?" Flaera said, her strange eyes narrowing at the four armed snake "wasn't it your father who brought the races in your part of space together? Surely you do more than just 'know of' them?"
"Yesss, he is" Trinrst answered, his scales rapidly changing to grey-green with a light smattering of tiny red dots "and with resspect thisss converssation currently has nothing to do with my family life. it appearss to be Vito Ssserpellss turn"
"Fine" Flaera relented, rolling her eyes again and leaning back nonchalantly.
Magic Tech High
"Um, okay then." Vito seemed a bit less confident in talking about his life at home now, not because he had to keep it a secret, but because he was worried that the others would find it too weird. They seemed fairly understanding, but he felt like he was pushing the limits here. If he made himself out to be a complete weirdo he may bring down the Serpells family name, which wouldn't please anybody at home one bit. "Well, that's probably the most unusual thing, the rest of my life at home is pretty normal. I live in an apartment in one of the upper floors of Residential Block B at the Serpells Complex with my Desipad, it's a pretty nice place and since we're so high up we've got a good view. When I was younger we'd spend most of our time in the complex - since it's designed for people to live in it there's a lot to do there - but now that I'm going to school I'm allowed to spend more time outside of the complex to, you know, socialize."
That was a particularly important part of his attending school here at Magic Tech High. An crucial reason for his external schooling experience was, according to his Desipad, that it would provide him with numerous opportunities to network and form positive relationships with other kids his age who would undoubtedly grow up to have major influence in the world. It would be very difficult to do that if he had to scurry back to the family complex the moment school ended, so his family were essentially forced to give him more freedom to spend time socializing with the future best and brightest outside of school hours. Vito wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing just yet, but he supposed that if he found there was really nothing to do after school he could call up his Desipad and go home before his curfew.
"What about you Trinrst? And Flaera?" He wasn't sure how much time they had left before class actually started but hopefully there would be enough for both time of them to speak.
