First off I would like to say I think 3Kul is definately a very experienced RPer and I am very glad to have him here to help me when I am away from the RP. So..Thank youi 3Kul.

Secondly I would like to say I li9ke his. his makes sense and as for the names, once more, I like his Idea. and iI do not know what the majority of people would say, but I believe that one of the house names should be named ofter the LordPycho himself the creator of Blackstar in memory of him...even if I didn't get the name right I am sure many of us know who I mean. xDD On top of that I believe that either Holloweyes or Littlesister should get a house as, while I was there, they had a large impack on the area. as did Swix, yes you Swix, yourself as someone. I would be honoured to have my RP have those couple of names pop up. I would also think that Coolpikaaa or Wolfkazumaru would be another set of the names that could be picked from. so that makes about 4 so far and a 5th one I am not really sure xDD.

Thirdly, on top of 3kul's idea for the houses which you would fit in, if your character has a controlling Parent and has put them in a house they did not wish to be put in then I would like you to name which one they are IN but ALSO one that they, themselves, would have wanted personally to be in...Because if there is something like that...We could possibly have the idea of having a "transfer to another house" idea if you would like that.

In my school I think that they took the house names from history/literature, though I don't know where they are all from. We had Sherwood, Athelstane, Lincoln and Thoresby. When I was younger the junior school had different names for the houses (Yeomen, Lancers, Foresters and Archers - all names for different kinds of people), but I think that they use the same names the whole way through now.

My sister's school had six different houses, which (according to wikipedia) are all named after characters and places in Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe (it's worth noting that the school is called 'Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School' and is located in the suburb of Ivanhoe ): Ashby, Rowena, Oswald, Rotherwood, Locksley and York.

Wikipedia gives the following advice on picking house names:

My school had Fenton, Braithwaite, Mellors, Inglis, Thorpe and Rippon. I was in Rippon-our particular year in said house became notorious for it's crazy-smart people

Although keep in mind that most of the people here are fairly experienced RPers, I'm not all that special. GBE and Swix have both probably been roleplaying a lot longer than I have, and in far more roles, so I'd say that they're both a great deal more experienced than me

Yeah, DP is a must if we name houses after old Dojodian characters, but I think that his 'true' name would be a better fit for a house: Au'marui. I feel that he's a shoe-in for the Magi. House, although I suppose that it could be argued that he should represent the Tech. House... What do the rest of you think?

[/quote]That's very generous of you rosebarks, and thanks to you too Swix. Though I'd normally prefer to go with HE unfortunately he would be best suited to Magi. House, which I've already said fits DP like a glove. HE doesn't really fit with any other house, as he had pretty much no understanding of technology and no special physical or paranormal abilities. I wouldn't want to bump DP out of the way for HE, so I might have to drop him altogether. It's a shame, he would have appreciated this a lot more than LS would

Although some might feel that she had paranormal abilities to me LS was always a pure physical character, so she might be a good fit for the highly unpopular physical house (actually it's even more fitting that her house be the least popular, haha). I suppose that, in a kind of twisted way, she embodies many good qualities - determination, perseverance, striving to be the best, letting nothing stand in her way... It's pretty weird to think of her like that, but perhaps history remembers HE & LS' role on Blackstar differently? What do the rest of you think?

. [/quote]Given that both Fade and Furnace have been a part of Pax since it's early days (ie: 'The Beginning' RP) and were notable Dojodians I think that this is a pretty good choice. Personally I'd like to see a Fade house, which would probably be for the Para. students?

Same goes for CP and/or Kaz really. As famous Dojodians and Pax... folk (what do Pax people call themselves? Paxites? Paxicans? Paxidermists?

) they seem like logical choices for houses. Since CP is forking over large wads of cash too I think that a CP house would be good... but which house would you represent CP?

Interesting that purple and white seem to be the colours that many schools pick after going through red, blue, yellow and green. Do you know if the names mean anything Swix?

I think that maybe we should wait for symbols and imagery. Since we're picking old BSD characters to become figureheads for each house it would make more sense to pick colours and imagery that suit them. It'd be kind of weird for CP's house to be anything but yellow imo

Alright well CP i don't think money would be an issue at this point as the names are for people and not their cash. Swix, Fade would indeed work for the Para house, If you like that idea.

What if we possibly gave DP the tech house and HE the magic house...what do you guys think?

And good idea 3kul, GBE sounds like a good one, I'm going to put up a Pole, since we all seem to be in general, rough agreement that DP should be here then yes..and the true name sounds more honourable as well in my opinion.

EDIT: It also appears that I lack a poll ability soo....i guess we'll have to vote by numbers. if you want to put their name in then but a tick by it. And i figured, As the maker of this site Tav should have a fair shot at a character to be named after in the houses as well., and after asking Kazumaru..he said he would not like to have one named after him, so I took his out of the options. so Copy Paste to keep udated and those you wish to put up out a tick at (max of 5 least of 1)

@3kul: That is interesting about the colours in the schools, especially as we're halfway around the world from each other XD. From what I remember, Fenton was the surname of the founder of the school, I think Braithwaite donated some of his land to it when it had to move, and most of the others, like Rippon, donated money to it during hard times. Inglis though was really recent, 1993 in fact. But I can't remember why that one was put there XD.

@rosebarks: Um, I have to admit your voting system is confusing me. Maybe I need more coffee though

@both of you: After thinking about it, I've got to say the Para. House would suit Fade perfectly :O. Which is odd because I never thought of her as a paranormal character, but a physical one. However, she is one that has gifts that she had to learn to control, not that she was taught, as are all mutants. Plus being of said species covers everything from enhanced healing to shapeshifting to psychics. So, yes, I definitely do like the idea of Fade for the Para. House, though it'd have to be blue of course

Well with the voting system.. It's put a l beside the one you want. If it reaches 5 please put a space between it xDD But that way we can tally them and you can use from 1-5 choices to choose from but can only select each person once.

Ah I'm sort of sliding in here late (because crazy weather has made it unbearable to be at the computer), but Klay and Lucas would probably fit in the Phys. house because although Lucas is interested in technology, he does enjoy sport a bit more. I'd go with the mix house, but there doesn't seem to be much love of the Phys. one. Haha.

Not really, no. The idea is to vote for characters after all, not people. LS and HE are very different characters, I might find it harder to get votes if people didn't know which they'd get

The voting system that we have now is good in that it's simple to use and understand, but it doesn't keep track of who we're voting for what. I think that it's better to go with a system that simply lets people nominate their choices for each house, then have somebody go back over the discussion thread and tally up the votes. It shouldn't be that hard as there aren't that many of us, odds are we'll just be negotiating with each other to come up with an arrangement that we can all agree on.

Here's the tally so far, from what I can see in previous posts. If you feel otherwise just post here with your updated nominations.

I've already explained why I feel that Fade fits well as the patron of the Para House, and blue is her colour scheme so it's the natural choice. The same goes for CP and yellow, and although some of you might not agree with me on this one I believe that CP exemplifies a physical character quite well. His lighting-based powers all come naturally to him and his ilk, so they are not strictly magical or paranormal abilities imo, but they can be built upon. HollowEyes has also been explained in previous posts, and he gets white as a colour because of his own monochrome colour scheme as well as his affinity for paper-based magicks.

As for DP in the Tech House, well, after thinking about rosebark's suggestion and re-reading his old profile I felt like he could fit that house just as well as he could fit magic, if not better. I chose green for his colour because that green seemed to be the theme for Blackstar.

That leaves me with the Mix. House... This is a bit of a tough one. As I recall GBE has a lot of characters that would fit this part well, but as founder of Pax I feel like Tav also deserves a house... I guess before I make a decision I'd like to know which of their characters would be representing them for this house.

My thoughts was to have the vote for who they wished to be picked first, then decided houses after but this works just as well. and thank you again to those helping me out on this (meaning everyone so much). I have been back and forth a lot and I appreciate the help so much, more than words can explain right now.

Also: I must agree with 3Kul right now with how his view looks. Being I do not readily know much about GBE, I don't know what characters, but I do believe that Tav wished his to be Zerrer when I talked to him in MSN awhile back. I explained to him that I used the name Tav over Zerrer as there might be a case of people who were not on the Blackstar dojo site that are here, such a case is Okura, she is from Pax but not Blackstar.
