If the letter isn't just completely made up note planted to confuse us, it seems the protagonist could easily be Sam. It's less likely, but I don't think it's impossible the protagonist is Em, having failed to send the letter before being caught. Even less likely, to me, would be that our lead character was delivering the note for someone else. Interestingly, we haven't had the protagonist check themselves over to find out what they look like. It seems nice to leave this a mystery for now, though.

My worry is if the protagonist can't get the lights on and can't find a flashlight are there more of those dog like creature things after us or what not?

There's probably more monsters, since I don't think it would be able to cause a lockdown on it's own in a place as heavily secured as this one seems. For some reason, at first I thought someone had cut the power to try to stop whatever was causing the lockdown form taking advantage of the system, but I guess it makes more sense if it's the power being cut that releases the monsters. So there probably beasts in the other chambers down the hallway that broken or will break out. Hopefully most of the creatures are too big and/or poor at climbing to follow us into the vent.

There'll be a slight delay before I post again. Sorry about that, I just can't seem to get in the right mindset for it.

Well I don't think any of the monsters attacking the ship would be able to get the breaker messed up like it was, so it seems we've got some sabotage on our hands. Unknown is who is doing is sabotage or why. Considering how little we know about the facility, we don't even know if it was deserved, though it was at least a bit mean to leave protagonist stranded like that. The beasts seem fierce enough that it's odd whoever runs this place would keep people in the same area. The place you were is was called "quarters" in on the control panel though, so maybe they weren't, and what you were in wasn't meant to hold you captive in the first place. I mean, it let you out on it's own, so I guess I was just being silly to think otherwise.
