Well. I asked someone out. That's a thing.

Since however we've been introduced with and so far have only been able to talk through facebook however, rather than leave a long rambling message I put my artistic skill to use and made someone that was hopefully semi-entertaining as well as, you know, a question.

... Well that was expectedly disappointing, then suddenly confusing.

So I get the initial like you as a friend and nothing more I usually get... well and then I asked if anything was holding her back and the response made her re-think her answer... maybe?

Basically she had been chasing after (sorta) some other guy (who's playing hard to get and that rings alarm bells in my mind. But I can't exactly say anything now with her quite rightly questioning my motives, even I am), but she stopped and I think she decided that she might have been making a mistake. I dunno. She just said "and I may realise what a ninny I've been for rejecting you so quick when you're just such a good guy", then told me she was gonna think it over.

So yea, that was last night and now I've been packing for a house move in a less than sunny mood waiting for an answer either way. I daren't get my hopes up but... *sigh*

Almost wish I hadn't asked now. Because I'm probably gonna get rejected twice for my trouble. As I should have bloody expected.

She's not avoiding me at least, she gave me a text to let me know how she was doing (been really busy this week). That's something I guess? I just dunno anymore.

Not much to say really. She got back to me almost exactly a week later saying that she didn't feel she knew me well enough, which is fair enough I guess.

I mean, I thought that's why people went on dates, but I didn't say that.

It's a little... I dunno, frustrating I guess that THAT answer leaves the possibility open for something to happen in the future. It's hard to get on with things like they never will (as I'm sure is the case), with something open ended like that. Meh.

We're still friends though (EDIT: Hm, may have spoken too soon, but then again I'm a bit upset and overthink things anyway...), which what worried me most, but I still feel like crap. :/

EDIT 2: I'm also hurt that I asked a friend for some company and they turned me down. I know I shouldn't take it too personally but really? Your schedule is too busy to take a couple of hours out of a day to see if I'm okay?

... And now I feel bad for being a little angry, because I probably shouldn't be. Been all over the shop today.
