On the twin planets..

The white dragon sat back on his haunches and scratched his head again, trying to think of the best way to explain. "I came through a lake but I don't live in them usually. I came through some sort of portal I think"

He stopped scratching and peered closer at her "Are you sure you've never met a Dragon before? This place has an underlying smell of one... Name's Permafrost by the way, what's yours?"

Mirror Lake

"I. Hold. Scores. Of. Names..."

An opaque gloom appeared along the shoreline of the lake. It deepened in magnitude, bloating away the illuminating shine from the sky above. "The Aged Island, the Wise Man; a Valiant Hero; a Fallen King. My kind were called many names, though for simplicity, you may refer to me as Graikos."

Encampment

"Uh... yes? I've never seen a true dragon before, only the stories the resident's mentioned of the one said to live around here." The women said, perplexed at the creatures curiosity. "My name is Miyuzo, it's great to see you... wait, what portal?"

"Where are you going Swix?" The Manticore asked, beyond annoyed. "You can turn living flesh to stone, don't tell me you are afraid of this idiotic show?!"

He circled, grinding his teeth while the Basilisk smashed through the statues of twisted people and fled into the lake. So much for help in this matter.

"You've tried my patience." The creature growled, descending on the woman. With his tail he swept away the cane she was supporting herself on, and pressed his claws to her throat. "I may not be able to kill you, but believe me, I have access to fates far worse. Why should I answer any questions of yours? I smarter choice would have been using your second chance to flee."

Pressed against the boulder by the Manticore's fearsome claws, Alex replied back nonchalantly. "To abandoned this journey would only result in greater danger for myself in the future, than the current threat before me. " Her hands slipped into her pockets slowly, returning with her fists concealing two different choices for the chimeric beast.

"I hold in my hands war or peace, your answer shall decide which your gift from me will be."

"Presents?" The Manticore asked, considering it. "Don't think you can bribe you way out of this, Girl." He said, although he quickly released her.

"I might take a look however, though."

Alex opened her right palm, a cylindrical striped object rattled about in the hand. "This is a powerful flash bomb. It is capable of rendering the target blind for a minimum of 30 seconds. Choising this shall dissovle any potential alliance in the future, as after I find that guy, I'll hunt you down and gut you like a fish."

At the alternate side, her fingers held a spherical red stone, hardly bigger than a pearl. "Here, is the Elixer of Life, fabled Alkahest, the Philosophers' Stone; capable of performing impossible feats. I will give this to you, as well as the knowledge to use it, after we find him."

"Ah-ha..." The Manticore hummed, while he stared at the stone the woman offered. The mythical beast bobbed his head slightly, catching the artifact in different light. This would do. This would definitely do.

"Ooh? Now you're thinking smart, little lady. Now that I have a reason not to kill you, even one to actually help you... We're interested." The monster flashed her a smile, showcasing his terrible teeth. "Where first, boss?"

Alex gentility lifted his arsenal off herself, having pacified the Manticore (for now). She shoved her hands the sides once more. ~Good, just need to explain a few more details, as I don't even know where to start.~

Pointless in use, she handed over the flash bomb to the beast, a leather cord now bounded at an edge of the tube. "I can always create another. You can have that as a preliminary gift for the time being." She spoke to him stoically. "Before we can venture off, there is a matter of geography I would like you to assess with me."

Scooping a pile of dirt from the ground, she dumped the barren soil across the giant rock. Without a gesture, sparks of beryl lights lapped away at the reagents, staining the stone in a diagram of the polar star systems. Alex knocked at the dividing line. "As mentioned earlier, I came from the mirror world. And while the Blue Mage informed me of some details of this realm, he held his tongue on most of it. He preferred, just like his father, to work alone."

“This planet has eight satellites orbiting around it. Now, are we on the main body, or one of the surrounding fragments?”

Encampment

The white and blue Dragon sniffed, then said "Ah-hah!" when she mentioned the tales of another Dragon "I knew I smelled something different around here!" as though he didn't trust his own nose. "A... portal? You know, big swirly thing, black or blue or white, takes you to different places? I think I flew through one at the lake back there. It certainly wasn't there until recently. You know anything about it?"

<hr />

Mirror Lake

The Basilisk was trying not to look too closely at the Golems arms, but there were so many it was hard to avoid it.

"Graikos" she said slowly "my looking at you won't stop you moving will it? I've never met a creature of living stone before, I don't know how this ability would work or even if it does with something like you"

She turned slowly about, then shook her giant serpentine head "But I'm getting distracted&#33; Please you have to help me&#33; I need to find my counterpart, or anyone who will help. My world is in great danger&#33;"

Encampment

*the winds shift, and something faint can be heard on the breeze*

"Portals, you say" the voice muses "It can be said that I know something of portals"

A pair of red glowing eyes appear in the dark ahead, and the voice on the winds continue

"However, why should one such as I help one such as you?"

"You one of them 'you scratch my back I scratch yours' creatures?" the Ice Dragon asked after staring at the floating red eyes with his own cold blue ones "I'm just after some information, what is it you want?"

"Quid Pro quo? No, no...one such as yourself could not offer anything one such as me could find useful...."

*The winds suddenly grow stronger, forming a cyclone in the area the red eyes float. Dirt and debris fly in, and assemble themsevles around the eyes.

As debris adds to the mass, it starts to take the form of a man. Average build, average height, short of the red eyes, nothing really sets him apart.

He materializes fully clothed. As parts of him solidfy, the clothes take on color and texture, forming a crisp black suit, white shirt, and black tie.

He finally finishes materializing, and then pulls a pair of sunglasses from his inside pocket and puts them on, covering his glowing eyes. He then reaches INTO the ground, pulls out a long scimitar, blue gem in it's guard, femur for the handle and hilt. He places it on his back, where a sheath materializes*

The real question here, my dear dragon, is are you worthy of my help.

Encampment

Stunned by the ghostly gaze, her voice stuttered at the daring entity. "Th-this... is.... an odd feeling.... What... are you?" Miyuso attempting to reclaim what attention she had on the matter.

Mirror Lake

"Have no fear, in this liminal state of earth and flesh, such curses are diverted off my being." Graikos replied in turn. "Though, your world's fate has likely started before it was even born. The celestial winds... blew weakly over the passing months... quite strange."

Seemingly lost in thought, the arms transformed into five steeping figures, each body oozing into humanoids forms. "A baskilisk... is not a body well suited for discourse... perhaps an temporary exchange is in order?

Pax (The Other universe where it is 8 moons)

The Manticore takes the gift by it's cord, then hesitates, not immediately thinking of anywhere he can hang it. He thinks, then simply sets it down on the dirt.

"We're on a fragment. One of the bigger ones, where most people landed. If we were down on the planet we'd freeze so fast even this lovely mane couldn't help." He explained. "There's the beginnings of a town nearby, even. It never really got anywhere, until at least, m'lady came along and... made some additions."

"Heheh. Yeah..." he laughed, looking down at the dirt. Again, Alex could get the feeling she wasn't the one being talked to.

Pax (Eight Moons)

"Yes, that town would be our best shot for finding him, at the moment." She mentioned to the Manticore. "Locals might know a thing or two about the strange vibe I'm getting. Even with that thing gone... the sensation still dwells..."

Clutching at her chest, a churning pain wailed inside. She picked up the flash bomb and draped the end of his stringer with it. "It is.. only on so tight... a good throw should knock it off when needed," Alex gasped. "We better get going... no more stabbing me again. My sanity is already unstable as is."
