The Artificer was beginning to grow weary of the red dragon's attitude. It would relish rending it's flesh from bone... perhaps it would enact a particular act of cruelty the humans had devised known as a Blood Eagle according it's archives.
Yes. That would do nicely.

((Oh dear ))
There's a loud mechanical noise as the Green Plus symbol is pressed by Devon, and the symbol itself lights up briefly as it is activated. Unfortunately for the group, it was the wrong switch, so the door it was next to didn't open at all. Instead, the loud mechanical noise is coming from halfway over on their right side, and the dangerous creature Lili had already placed within the maze was granted further access into it.
Lilis laughter echoed from their box, the Shadow Mirror Dragon had a malicious smile plastered across her face and the purple glowing eyes glinted with dark humour.
"Wrong choice, little ones! That symbol there was a little trick of mine! Now my other pet gets to roam around the maze a bit more freely than you do, two more wrong guesses and he gets to come after you" Lili giggled, and raised a claw again "But since there's only two doors there and you can only pick one" another mechanical noise emanated from nearby the and the door with the Red Cross symbol opened, revealing more of the interior of the maze "this door's open for you anyway. Try not to make too many more mistakes, I have more wonderful challenges lined up for you"
Behind the Red Cross door, there's a long corridor, on the close left side of this corridor is a turning, and further down there's an opening on the right.
"Do try and remember this is a maze. I'd so hate it if one of your group gets lost in there" Lili taunted, her tone indicating that it actually wouldn't bother her at all.
((Sorry guys, that's one guess gone. Two more and you get an added problem . Good guess though, it was 50/50 after all! Let's see how you do further in ))

Fantastic, the conspicuous green plus had to be the wrong choice. Now if the Red Dragon brought it in, he surely would imagined it be the cross instead, given their pride. Sighing, he peered inside the corridor, grumbling as he went on, "We need to carry on, if any of you like to press the next door, be my guest."
Scarf raised to his mouth, Devon descend down the winding corridor. Despite the eerie feel the walls gave, he couldn't frown at the simplistic approach as he passed the opening on the right.

After Devon moved down to the opening on the right, he'd find another choice presented itself to him-there was another long corridor after another another right turn, or there was a very short left.

The Artificer, unperturbed by the mocking of the beasts, followed Devon down the corridor, looking around as it did so. What could be mistaken for curiosity was in fact an attempt to survey the labyrinth through a variety of visual spectrums to try and discover the correct way through the maze. When it caught up to Devon, it explained.
THIS LABYRINTH APPEARS TO BE BATHED IN AN... UNCLEAN ENERGY. I AM ATTEMPTING TO ASCERTAIN THE OPTIMAL PATH THROUGH THE MAZE BEFORE WE CONTINUE. IF THE DRAGON IS NOT LYING TO US, WHICH IS A LIKELY PROSPECT, THE BEAST HUNTING US DOWN IS TRAPPED AS LONG AS WE TAKE A SLOW AND METHODICAL APPROACH. I WILL REPORT MY FINDINGS SHORTLY.
The towering form of the Artificer continued to scan it's surroundings as it gleaned any information it possibly could.
((So yea, what do I find, if anything?))

((Want to add a few things for clarification. First, Bulwark is 12 feet tall and weighs 9 tons. Secondly, the fumes it is emitting are actually just smoke from its boiler.))
Bulwark rumbled in a manner that could almost be interpreted to construe disappointment and clanked down the corridor after Devon.

"Slow and methodical... If we still incur traps and challenges even with the correct doors, then I believe you are correct... Never caught your name though, automaton. My name is Devon Parker," he replied courteously to the Artificer.

YOU MAY REFER TO ME AS LORD-
The Artificer began, before it's world took an extremely strange turn... The world was static, and shifting in a variety of colours. Magical interference most likely, but something was amiss... there was an intruder.
In the shadows of the corridor on the right, a figure lurked. The only light penetrating the darkness were two glowing white eyes, not dissimilar from that of the Artificers. A white robe shifted in and out of the light, and a sword could just be made out in the shadow.
[ARCHENEMY DETECTED]
[EXTERMINATION PRIORITY ALPHA]
Without so much as a word of warning, the Artificer barrelled down the corridor, swinging back the phase scythe to strike at the hated, ancient enemy. Around it, the world dissolved making way for a battlefield bathed in fire, and blood, watched over by a long dead star.
YOUR TIME HAS COME HOSPITALLER, FIGHT WELL AND YOUR DEATH MAY BE QUICK!

"Hey, hold up Lord-Fire Pants!"
Devon found this radical to be increasing problematic. Normally metal might react to magic to varying degrees of severity, though the Artificer's nature itself antithetical to arcane altogether. That, and he haven't even mentioned his aptitude to the mystics yet.
"There is no one else here! Now pipe down," the man shouted after it, trailing the mad mech through the hallway.

Turning the corner down the right branch almost immediately had you meet the wall. Now the path ran either right into darkness, or left which seemed to end your line of sight right away, as there was an immediate bend.
You hear odd sounds that seem so much more terrible in the dim light.

The world burned around the Artificer.
The invasion had been a success, all things considered. Today was the day the latest technology in Artificer warfare was unleashed upon the galaxy, Lightsbane. The gigantic space station had taken many years to perfect, but once preliminary tests were complete thousands of worlds would set to work building many, many more.
The Hospitallers had tried to stop them of course. Their elite warriors, their so called "Guardians of Light" had thrown themselves into the fray in order to dismantle the great war machine of the Artificer Empire. This was why the name was chosen, the cruel irony was not beyond the machine minds who created it. Of course, this was not the only reason. Lightsbane was named as such because the sole purpose of the station was to destroy those that gave light, and life, to the galaxy... the stars themselves.
And destroy it did.
An outpost system of the Hospitallers had been chosen for the test. Should it have failed then normal invasion procedures would have been initiated and the Artificer Lord had been chosen to lead the attack on their sole populated planet. As it happened, the process of destroying a star was a slow one to begin with and so to stop a possible counter attack, doomed as it might be, the so called "Carrion Lord" unleashed the dreaded Husk Virus ahead of it, swelling the ranks of the Artificer army with the dead upon arrival. It almost relished the duel it found itself locked in...
And then the world stopped burning.
The Artificer's view returned to normal as it made the killing blow. But rather than the archenemy scum splitting in two, it struck the magically protected floor.
"Hey, hold up Lord-Fire Pants!"
The Artificer raised itself to full height, and sheathed the scythe.
I WILL BEGIN MAPPING THE LABYRINTH. IF WE MUST RETRACE OUR STEPS, THE TASK WILL BECOME TRIVIAL.
The deception of it's senses displeased the Artificer, which was a strange sensation itself. The... emotion was not anger however, but it did not know what it was. This was new, and it was wrong.

Devon scrutinized the opposing passages, recalling what the Artificer advised previously. Although the left side might bend back ahead, thus leading them further faster; this maze was devised to be deceptive in mind. No, the shortest trek to freedom deemed to risky. In preparation for the 'dark path', he contracted his abdominal muscles, coughing up the piece of amber he eaten at the beginning of the trial. "Let me get out a torch of sorts," he gargled out.
Spitting the wet stone at the floor, a dim glow materialized as... a pygmy goat? The oddly colored critter strutted in a circle, showing off its orange glow. "Don't know why, but I'm quite fond of these animals," Devon interjected. "At all else, can be fair decoy. Press on, mighty one. Hey what?"
His goat companion decide a different course. Gazing at the blue mech, it bolted ahead of it, barely illuminating ahead of the trio. Watching keenly, Devon saw it give a good gap in the middle of the group. Best to let the scapegoat take the first hit of any booby-traps. Hope left is better than right.

The Artificer looked with mild disgust at the revelation of Devon being a mage. A pity, after this was over the man would need to join the ranks of the dead. Ah, but what was this? The mortal knew it's place! His death would be quick.
In the mean time, the Artificer addressed the crude machine.
IF YOU POSSESS THE ABILITY FOR COGNITIVE THOUGHT, DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS BEFORE WE PROCEED?

Bulwark somehow shrugged, quite an achievement without shoulders, and gestured left with its spear.
