Quest for a Soul

The Goo named Nym sat outside on the Temple of Insanitys steps. Nym looked like the Knight of Insanity Swix enough to be mistaken for her sister, with a few noticeable differences. Nym kept her hair short, neat and straight, and wore a grey dress. She was also different in personality, nicer and more nervous. Unlike Swix however, Nym could not use magic-because she had no soul. Nym was a part of a race of monsters that devoured whole planets and species just to try to sate their ever expanding hunger whilst creating more mouths to feed in the process.

Luckily, Nym had been severed from that link and had become an individual who wanted not only not to hurt people, but to help them as well. Nym and Swix had never really gotten along but it hadn't stopped the now retired Knight from seeing Nyms potential, and training her. Now she had left for Dea and Nym was left here.

Unfortunately with the way the celestial magic worked for Knights Nym was left with the unescapable conclusion that she could never see herself as a full Knight no matter how much she tried to help people purely because she could not open the door. It was heartbreaking to her.

So now Nym sat outside, unsure on what to do. Too nervous to ask but at the same time not wanting a hand out either. What was a soulless Goo to do?

Why so down? The temple of depression is somewhere else if that's where you are looking for...

::Ariel sat on the side of her Temple nearby. She really had to break this defying gravity thing - but her male aspect loved the spectacle of it, and habits are hard to break, even for immortals.::

Nym jumped and looked at the source of the voice, then slowly tilted her head sideways until she looked like she was about to fall over sitting down with her head at a right angle. "I uh, no, I don't think I'm in the wrong place. At least I hope not ^^;.

She put her head back "I uh, I don't feel like I think I'm supposed to-which is weird. Ummm" Nym paused uncomfortably tapping her fingers against each other before eventually decuding to just blurt it out

"Can you make souls? Or do you know where I can get one I don't want to ask someone who'll just give it over because then I don't think it'd mean as much as I haven't earned it but I don't think I could ever be considered a real Knight without it because I can't even open the door by myself"

Nym stopped and then went very, very red on her imitated face before looking down. "Sorry"

Ariel giggled. It was a light giggle, no judgement, just amusement.

"You are the second creature on Pax to ask me for a soul. I'll tell you as I told them: I am not a life goddess. I cannot create souls. I can transfer them, manipulate them, use them, etc etc - all of which is very black magic and should be avoided at all cost, I should add - but no, I cannot make you a soul. In fact, I cannot even begin to imagine the process - but I might know some one who might..." Ariel said, then looked off, as in lost in thought.

Nym looked up at the giggle, lightly sighed at the admission, then stared a bit more intently as Ariel trailed off and looked away.

"You know someone... who can? Who is it?"

Ariel sighed "Sorry, just thinking about something. Anyways, you know the shrine near the lake nearby? The deity of that shrine is a life goddess...if anyone would know about souls, it would be her. You should go ask."

Nym nodded lightly. "Okay. And um, yeah, I do know that lake and that shrine it's not far away on foot. Um, thanks, anyway. I-I'll go and ask"

The Goo said, still nervous, before standing up, bowing and then leaving for the nearby Shrine.

Ariel watched the girl leave. She hoped she hadn't sent Nym on a quest to her Death - but such a request would not be given lightly - souls are special things indeed.

~To Shiri: You have a guest coming your way. Hear her out - I cannot help her, but you might~

Nym walked over to the Shrine at the lake from the Temple, wondering as she went all the way on how to phrase her request. The many conversations she could have rolling around and around in the Goos mind until she came up to the Shrine. "Hello? Anyone around here?"

Well, someone showed up. The sometimes seen, and often easily noticed, young goddess who made her own small shrine there. Mitsuko popped up, skin a charred black with ashen grey hair and deep red eyes. Most notable, besides the undamaged but charred skin, was a set of massive black wings that emerged from her back and the sensation of warmth she emanated. She smiled, greeting her with an affectionate hug at high speeds before she spun around her and returned to where she was. "Hi! Can I help you? I'm Mitsuko, Goddess of Celestial and Stellar Flames."

The notable gathering by such a revered lake of Pax took the attention of another being. Soft clatter of links in chainmail would hardly alert any of their presence prior, though the wintry crunch beneath studded leather boots be the source of undoing ones stealth. Not that it mattered to the nearly black knight of the forest. A plain dark helm concealed the stranger's identity in the trip to Shiranui's Shrine. Even a sign of loyalty to a particular order laid absent of the figure, leaving the being without title as their pale eyes peered through the visor. Ã¢â‚¬Å“One immortal so far... Another be hiding elsewhere possibly... That Goddess should be here quite soon if I am right,Ã¢â‚¬Â a soft-spoken voice muttered to them self. Quietly, they rested a lone gauntlet on the end of their sheathed blade; an indication of weariness in a celestial's own holy ground as they drew out of the woodlands to the seat of commotion.

Nym blinked as she was hugged by what appeared to be a giant black blur before it sliwed down enough to reveal Mitsuko. "I uh, um... N-not unless you know how I can get a soul of my own" she admitted, pulling a very nervous slight smile.

The goddess tilted her head when she got the message and sensed the gathering outside of her shrine.
~To Ariel: Hm? I shall hear her out and see what she needs~ The Goddess replied.

Shiranui then appeared at the shrine, smiling as she saw Mitsuko cuddling Nym, before then pausing when she heard the mentioning of a soul. "Huh?" She blinked, looking a bit puzzled, an ear twitching in the direction of the strange black knight... Maybe a friend of Zerexe's? The goddess pondered. What a busy day today, and it wasn't even a party day.

"Did... You say something about getting a soul?" The goddess asks Nym curiously, yet also quietly, just to make sure her ears weren't fooling her.

"Uh...A...soul? Oh. I..." She sighed softly. "I can't help with that. Shiri might be able to." She let the Goo go and fizzled and popped for a moment before vanishing out of corporeal form in a small puff of black flame. Man...It's never a Mitsuko is the right person to fix this problem.

Without warning, the big but lovable oaf that was Grog comes bounding up holding a massive boulder.

"Nice Fluffy use this for her home?" He asks to Shiri, setting the boulder down "gently" - which of course caused the entire area to shake.
