"I vote for Drausus. He's my apprentice, and I trust his wisdom."
The glee evaporated away at that announcement. Could it be Liara forgot how much the Jentil's plate stacked itself in the past year? Karma decided to swing the responsibility his way for the nomination for Tom Johnson? "Great," he barely whispered. Drausus knew it be wrong to decline-
"I will second the nomination for Drausus."
... Laur too? This and Ariel's follow up the suggested candidates firmly settled the matter. Despite the fact Drausus rather continue to assist in his own methods, he could already hear murmurs of townsfolk thinking either him or Tom would be suitable as mayor.

Eltra pokes his head out of his own little hole he had been hiding in, humming. "Floran vote Thorn. Thorn bessst mayor!"
My life is just a long series of "it seemed like a good idea at the time" strung together.
Ahead in the Polls
Drausus turned his head towards the Floran speaking up. Thorn-Dancer? Sure, she was split in her tasks with the Knights... and others things... Perhaps this be the way to make her settle down? No, that be rude-
"I s-second that! Thorn for mayor!"
A drunken Homuncula shouted on another side of the crowd. Seianti, drunk once again, parroted Eltra's idea.

((sorry for the double post))
Tom set his drink down, stood up, and looked at the group.
"I just want to protect the town. I say we need a mayor who understands that. That's why I am nominating Zerexe."
That said, Tom sat back down and went back to nursing his drink.

"Everybody is talking about Zerexe, Tom and what not, but we're all forgetting the true man." from Nirasema, who lifted Woody's hand, like a judge declaring a champion after a match...after he gave the succubus another alcoholic drink. "The man who managed to create this neutral place. The man who is neutral to immortals, mortals and what not, and just wants peace. A place where everybody, all of us, can hang out and get drunk! We're all different, no, I'd say that half of the immortals over here can't even tolerate each other's presence. Yet..."
Nirasema smiled, as she looked into woody's eyes, clearly drunk. "This man offered me a drink! No, offered all of us a drink, regardless of what we are! Regardless of who we are! And so, I nominate this man, not because he gave me a beer, but because he gave all of us a beer."
Arisu and Liara just stared at Nirasema, quietly, almost as if a part of them died inside for such a drunk declaration.

Ariel sighed. Leave it to Nira to nominate whoever gave her booze.
Ariel: Do we have a second for Zerexe or Woody? Otherwise our ballot is Tom, Drausus, and Thorn

"I second Zerexe's nomination."
Rather quiet, having stuck to his own corner of the Horn & Halo, the immortal Knight spoke up. Grathon normally would have suggested Tom, given his record of assisting the Encampment. Though he already been picked twice. Logically, his mind would shift to Zerexe: a strong woman.

Ariel: A second for Zerexe. That makes the field Tom Johnson, Drausus, ThornDancer, and Zerexe. Do we have a second for Woody?

Off in as cold of a corner as he could have found in the crowded H and H the huldu of the Wyrd Sect that had built the casino of ice lurked and brooded as he watched the proceedings. So far, it seemed to him all the candidates were pretty sensible picks. How boring.
In the middle of a wide yawn Viktors ice white eyes under his bowler hat then fell upon Nirasema as he listened to her speech, before they darted back to Ariel at her sigh. The succubus made some pretty good points and a barman would more likely get along with his business.
But
More importantly
It looked like it annoyed the Mad God
Smirking, Viktor waved his bowler hat by where he sat. "I'll second for Woody"

Ariel: ::sighs again. Damn it Viktor:: And we have a second for Woody. So now that we have five candidates, I'll let them have a few minutes to speak to you as a group, and we'll adjourn for the day to let you consider your candidates. We'll start with the last nominated, and go forward. Woody, the floor is yours.

The barman called Woody had just stood there dumbstruck as Nirasema had taken his hand and made a-well, a pretty damn good speech really-but had closed his mouth afterwards and almost breathed a sigh of relief. Almost. Until Viktor spoke up.
The flustered barman looked at the floor as though he wished it'd swallow him up as he shuffled over to where Ariel had been standing before looking at them all. Normally quite a friendly, jolly and talkative person Woody found he could barely focus as all eyes fell on him him. "I, uh... " he put a hand behind his head and grinned as his face went red "I'm not biased towards anyone so... I run a bar. You people are nuts even suggesting me. For the love of the Encampment, keep me out of this"
He scooted back behind the bar a heck of a lot more quickly than he'd come out.

Zerexe walked up to the spot, suddenly having changed into a slightly nicer, if still pretty revealing, outfit. She _really_ hated wearing clothes...Not the time for that. With a slight stretch of her back she spoke up, voice carrying about as well as ever.
"I don't think I need much introduction. I wander the town, fight threats, and keep people safe. I'm a few thousand years old, and in that time, I learned to fight, to protect, and how to make a small town into a thriving, safe place. I've run guilds hunting monsters, built defenses, helped spread technology, and trained others to fight monsters that make the wildlife of Ana look nice. I intend to fix our legal code and teach the damn guard how to actually do their job right and stop harassing oni and other basically immune to alcohol people form drinking, stop trying to stab the literal embodiment of evil with spears, and basically how to focus their efforts to get as much done with as little as possible, and to weed out corruption. I intend to build defenses, myself if I have to, to stop people from getting picked off and to teach survival training for those who get taken out to dangerous areas. I explore Ana and map it out, so I know where resources are. I also have no interest in lying, nor tolerance for it, so what I say is what I intend to do. Whether elected or not, I am going to keep corruption out of this damn system."
The woman cracked her neck. "I have a few people lined up as potential workers too, such as Tom as sheriff. He basically does the job already, why not just make it official? Tom makes a better sheriff than mayor. ._. Regardless, that's my intent. Make defenses, expand town, teach people to protect themselves, fix the legal code. Ask not if you are a bad enough dude to save the mayor, ask if the mayor is a bad enough dude to save you." With that, she walked back to the seat.
