The Moot
Another bland hue-mant entrant, Parakee noted. At least his blonde plumage was easy on the eyes, even if he had very little of it to spare. Never one to miss the opportunity to twist the political knife further, Parakee was rather determined not to allow the distraction of a new arrival to prevent him from gaining the upper hand here.
"It would be nicer if we did not have to endure lectures on morality by the likes of the tyrannical despot sitting opposite, in my opinion."

Nemo very obviously feigns shock and possibly horror.
"Tyrannical despots!" He gasps "Why I met a tyrannical despot once. He didn't even make a good brew!"
He spins around to the brightly coloured avian representative, pointing a finger and never once breaking what is probably a wide eyed grin. He points a gloved finger in, he probably thinks, a dramatic looking way at Parakee.
"Your oh-so-very-gaudyness, I've got something I need to discuss with you." He declares. He slides over, and doing his best to reach the ears of the feathery creature. "About some... gentlemen you may have spoken to recently?" He whispers, with a slight growl underlining the words.

Zila looks less than impressed at the entrance of the New Terran Empire representative, and impatiently rustles her papers on the table after he slams his hands down.
"Sit. Down" she tells the Terran, rather abruptly "There's already been enough drama in here without you unnecessarily adding to it"

"Drama?!" He exclaims, stepping back a little "Who's out to make drama? Certainly not I..."
At the back of the room, the woman twitches slightly. A hand slowly rises to the case slung across her shoulder, but nothing more.
"I just wanted to have a little chat with my friend here... and possibly you next come to think of it" He finishes, frowning slightly.

"For someone who is not out to cause drama you are doing a very poor job of achieving your goals" Zila told the Terran, looking bemused at his exclamation "I hope you are a better representative than you are currently demonstrating"
The Reptiloid put her papers down flat and waved a hand dismissively in front of him "Yes, yes. I'm sure private words would suit your needs, but for now you should sit down"

Nemo pauses for a moment, the first time he's been still since waltzing into the hall.
"You know what, I'll do that for you, eh love?" He answers with a not too kind tone as he takes a seat... before proceeding to kick back and rest his feet at the table. "Please, continue."

"I'm glad you've finally seen some sense. There might be some slim hope for you yet" the Reptiloid commented as the human finally took his seat, but looking unmoved either way. Clearly, this actual attempt at riling her up had made less of an impact than when he wasn't trying to.
Then she turned back to the Draw and Quetzan trainwreck in progress. To watch and assess before coming to her own judgement.

"One abuses their own wealth when it effects those under them!" Row wrote back, her speech bubble becoming jagged with rage. "Is it not accurate to say your in your culture, status is determined entirely by damn color feather?! You are fakes, using wealth to elevate your friends to status. Using it to elevate yourselves into more wealth. You have no right to your position!" The sketched Avian was clearly furious, enough so that her speech was becoming dark, heavy streaks. "It's not just your stupid obsession with color. You simply don't listen! You haven't listened to anything at all we've said to you, opting instead to spout more garbage about how you are offended. You came in, made your mind up, and instantly became too firm to any of the reasonable thought a politician should have! How do your people feel? How can you possibly address their needs, when this is how you treat foreign visitors?! You are an insane... broken little bird."
"And really? Impersonate you? We're stuck to a damn sheet of paper you blathering idiot."
Then Row Kadee up and left the office, slamming the door in a huff.
"It is true we've had to crack down on protests." Leader began after an awkward silence, deciding things really couldn't get much worse. "Please... let me explain before you cast judgement. It's true we have to break them up because... How can I explain this? Have you ever taken a pencil and scribbled back and forth many times in the same place? The same effect can be achieved by having many of us in the same place at the same time. It simply destabilizes the drawing medium- and causes rips."
"We are impervious to most types of damage, but not this. Having the page rip while you are occupying the same space is more than physically tearing us apart. That area can't ever be used again, for anything. Coupled with our dwindling resources, we simply cannot afford such a thing to happen. Or... allow people to find out it's existence." The leader leaned forward, rubbing his eyes as though tired. "We've done... questionable things to protect our own. We cannot allow knowledge of rips to enter our culture. Those who may try to pursue knowledge for nefarious means exist anywhere, but this is simply worse than even weapons of mass destruction. It's an ultimate cessation- the literal destruction of our physical universe."
The leader appeared nearly finished with this whole conference. It had been one disaster after another, and had already forced them to divulge their nation's greatest secret to hopefully avoid being ostracized completely.
"Is there anything the Draw may be able to help you with, your... er... 'God-damn excellence'?"

((That was a very impressive spin on my accusation CP, well done!))
Just as Row Kadee had observed, Parakee was notoriously selective when listening to what others said and arrogantly aggressive in stealing the political advantage whenever possible. Naturally, her outburst was no exception to this, and he ignored most of it. Her leaving, however, was a small victory for him; he had demanded it, and she had ultimately conceded. What else mattered? Certainly, she had said many things that he may consider to be insulting, had they come from a bird of brighter colours, but Row Kadee was no such thing. She was colourless, a monochrome, who was naturally inclined to be irrational, rude and generally incapable of mingling with decent folk. Countless Quetzan scientific studies had proven the inferiority of the less colourful, and this only proved them further in his mind.
"I see, quite a difficult and complex situation then." Parakee replied to the Leader of the Draw, not even acknowledging Row Kadee's exit. "I am pleased to hear such frank admissions, much like my own, hard though they may be. It makes these kinds of meetings go much smoother."
Parakee dropped his dossier back down to Figbee, who was too busy righting Parakee's chair (which was considerably larger than her). When she had finished that and picked up the files, he spoke a few alien words in a rather odd, raspy tone - the Quetzan language - to which the tiny deputy nodded and trotted off. The Leader of the Draw may be colourless, but as the representative of their race he must represent the very best that they have to offer. If only he'd sent Figbee off earlier, he could have simply ignored the Draw altogether, but Figbee, that damnable simpleton, would definitely report this back to Parakee's superiors at the earliest opportunity. Getting rid of Row Kadee suited his own personal pride and agenda, and could be excused, even admired to a certain extent. Missing an opportunity to make a deal with the Leader of the Draw when he was in such a desperate situation and when the Draw themselves indicated an interest in mimicking Quetzans, however, would put him at odds with his own superiors. He would have no choice but to follow this up further... But for now he needed to let the dust settle.
"As for you, Mr... Mee-moh." Parakee decided to finally respond to the hue-mant's comments, somewhat curious to figure out what he was getting at. "I spend most of my time associating with gentlebirds. To be honest, I think that gentlemen are something of a myth, or a poor imitation of Quetzan standards at best." Semantics to some, superiority by association with common phrases to the Quetzan Empire. "Will you prove otherwise? What is it you wish to discuss with me?"

A wicked smile crept across Nemo's face, and he sunk a little lower into his chair.
"Don't you now? Are you sure about that? Well, perhaps not gentlemen as you say but... some company of an associate of mine? Of course as I say, I think you would much rather discuss this matter in private, but if you will insist on making a spectacle of the situation..." He trails off, an insufferably smug tone in his voice. "Well I think the situation may get a bit, shall we say, colourful."
He sat up again, resting his elbows on the table and tapping his fingers together, never breaking his gaze and never letting the smile fade.

"I hope we didn't take too long, fellow representatives."
A tranquil voice flew into the room: Lady Maria, along with her aunt and assistants, stood before the entrance of the rooms. Her gray eyes stared outward to the seated diplomats, taking in the peculiar scents and sounds circulating throughout the Moot.
“Presenting, Alva 'Maria' Idfure: reigning high priest of the Huldrefolk!†Solveig and Mana uttered in uncanny unison. The two guided her down to the nearest available seat for their group, accompanied with two taller Huldres that showed less enthusiasm than the siblings. Skathi offered a nonchalaunt response for their delay. “Perhaps if Carl over here stuff his face, we could have been here greet you at the door.â€
Irked, Carl gave the woman a foul glance before looking aside, attempting to ignore the beads of sweat drooping from his forehead. Skathi simply smirked at his cowardice, believing this Moot wont be a total bummer.

The Reptiloids looked up at Maria and the other Huldrefolk, and Zila took the time to answer their question "Usually there has been some small amount of progress in these meetings by now, but in this case you have missed nothing. Please sit down so we can get on with it. You do value protocol I take it? Unlike some other representative s in here"
The Moot
Maria smiled upon hearing the resounding answer. "Yes, I have brushed up on the proper procedure. Though forgive me if I misstep in the normal structure of a Moot, as I tend to act informally even among my subjects." She spoke in a sweet tone. "Also..."
Tugging on Solveig's dress for attention, she nods back at her High Priest. Turning back at Reptiiold faction, Maria's right eye manifested an aurous glow within it as the female assistant's eye shares the same mystical charm.
"Oh, such a marvelous audience. I've never seen your kind up close, only in the documents early this week, so majestic." The High Priest squeaked out, before covering her mouth in embarrassment. "Sorry, I don't casually utilize their powers, it get's a bit overwhelming for me at times. Now, is there a particular topic you would like to discuss?"
Raising her hand high, Carl presents a few documents to her leader, each etched with numerous words and phrases across the sides. She lays them carefully in front of herself on the table. Then, a twisted branch, leaking blue smoke from its tip, rides around the paragraphs.
"Do you want to defer your queries and requests to me, or shall I?"

The Draw leader looked resigned, watching Parakee promptly wrap up their verbal warfare and carry on as if nothing had happened. He expected more, after all that. Perhaps some sort of offer to aid. Yet, the bird seemed perfectly content to simply carry on as though he had won, and leave it at that.
In fact, The Draw had just revealed their biggest problem in the history of their short existence and none of the representatives had exactly been clamoring to help.
"No, go ahead." The leader wrote to the little girl that had entered. He wasn't entirely sure what to think of her, really. This conference had already been extremely... taxing.

The Reptiloid representative and deputy exchanged a look with each other when Maria used one of her own to see, and behind them a few members of their group visibly puffed up at the compliment. Clearly the majority of them approved.
"Please go ahead" Zila said to me later representative, looking more intrigued and eager to hear what the newcomers had to say "It will be refreshing to hear different voices"
