"You are most gracious," The Representative replied back to Zila. She calmly opened up a folder, using the branch to decipher the text in her mind, still facing towards the Reptiliods. "My people are fairly young to intricacies of political dealings and alliances, so forgive me if the goods and services I request do not fit to your liking. We, the Huldrefolk, are largely in demand for innovative work, trade routes for the items that you deem worthy, and anti-p... p... p... "
Beside the stammering priest, Skathi leaned backwards on the table, bare feet kicking about in the air in boredom. She loathed watching out for her sister's daughter. Even if she is the ruler. To her, Maria is nothing but complete softy incapable of fending for herself. She glares up at Mana, who, not quite understanding the situation, decided to finish his priest's words.
"Medicine, she meant we are looking for different varieties of herbal treatments, vaccines, ect."
"It's most obvious you don't care for your job that much, Mana." Skathi said snickering. Furious, the Huldu's eyes flared an intense light, only to be sated by Carl tapping on his shoulder. His meaty hand then pointed at the Draw; he didn't want any more trouble from the Grand Hunter. Irked, Mana gestured at Maria with his vision to focus on The Draw. Surprised, the priest blushed, saddened she didn't get the chance to read his writing yet.
"Oh, patient Leader. I apologize for not noticing you yet. " Holding out her hand, another branch extended from her sleeves, slowly crawling towards the easel. "If my seers ever miss out on a word, I will be able to still hear you talk."

"Hear us?" The Leader of The Draw wrote when a branch was put up to their page. "I assure you that is quite impossible to do. We make no sounds but the scratching of a pencil when we create."
"As for what you've requested... those things are simply an entire dimension away from our reach."

As the Leader's words formed on the page, the elongated branch periodically vibrated as it read each of the letters from the easel. Smiling, Maria snapped her fingers. Her assistant Mana reached into a suitcase beside Carl, procuring an extensively wrapped object in etched paper. His hands delicately placed between both the Huldrefolk and the Draw at the table
"A gift from the Huldrefolk. Perhaps this will allow you to reach those afar if you decide to partake in it."
Tapping the peak of the present, the bindings sunk by a spiraling wave, blended together by a array of sparkles hovering around it. Mana's cheeks bloated at his excitement of his friends' craftsmanship. The unveiled stout mannequin poised in a motionless walk, with one leg rooted to the ground as the latter floated behind its back. "One of the most exceptional works of the Wyrd sect. This is a functionally suit only operable within miniature gaps brimmed in the stained cellulose fibers. After analysis of your kind's lore and properties provided by the Moot in advance, we were capable of creating this: the Talos Mark 12." Said Mana.

"Representatives of the Quetzan Empire are above such pathetic conversational games, Mee-moh." Parakee crowed, tilting his head in a dismissive manner at the sly Terran representative so that he was looking down upon him even moreso now that this hue-mant was slumping in his chair. He found it rather stupid that this hue-mant would first raise a discussion point, then refuse to pursue it. "You surely have better to aim for at this moot as well, don't you?"
He looked about the room to the new arrivals, unable to contain a scoff at one of the Huldrefolk referring to the Reptiloid's present as 'majestic'. It was not that he thought them to be ugly, merely that they were not as deserving of such comments as he was. No doubt their tiny leader was buttering the lizards up to beg some favour of them... Or perhaps it was a deliberate ploy to make him jealous? They were not nearly so colourful as him, although their leader's white robes had a deliriously bright red trim that was to die for. Parakee immediately made a mental note to have his personal designer work more red trim into all of his clothing, and he promptly lost himself thinking about how he'd probably set the next fashion trend back at the Empire with such a bold and back-to-basics colour injection in his wardrobe.
Just as he was thinking about whether or not it would be too much to add more red trim to the clothes that he already had red trim on (most definitely not, but it still had to be considered), the curious exchange that was taking place between the Draw and the Huldrefolk caught his eye. It wasn't surprising to see deals being made while others were caught up in their own discussions, but this one seemed especially bizarre. The high priest Idfure sought medicines for her people, from the one representative at the table who seemed least equipped to provide them. The gift on offer seemed too ideal for the Draw, and showed that significant effort had been made in preparing to get the Draw on side.
Just what were they getting at with this?

The Leader of the Draw was intrigued.
"What exactly is this? It seems to resemble a suit for travel in your three dimensional realm but..." He paused, studying it. "We can't accept such a gift. It hope it was clear that as much as we would like you assist you, it's simply out of our means. Providing us with this... free of charge is a gift far too large if we can't pay you back in some way."

An eerie twitch crawled along the lines of his mouth, Mana's held fast onto his resilience over a bitter snarl boiling inside himself. Hurriedly, he hoisted the mannequin of the Wry off the table. To say the least he was not amused. As the Leader should know, legends speak of the dangers of both rejecting and receiving gifts of a hidden folk. To know whether it came from deceit or kindness left largely to the promoter in question. Nevertheless, the grief-stricken huldu took the item in question back to the group's room for safe keeping until the end of the Moot. With her left eye closed, Maria shook her head.
“Don't take it the wrong way Leader; some of us still cling to the old mannerisms of our kind, he simply thought highly of said gift. However, we most certainly do not want to overshadow your involvement in any arrangements we agree upon. Now.†The priest scanned through the notes in the outstretched file.
"I've heard impressive recognition of your works from multiple sources, yet, I'm in particular seeking Fine Art for documenting the history of my people." She paused. "-And Blueprints that could both seal and encrypt an assortment of materials and beings."
Solveig knelt down behind her priest's chair, procuring an aged scroll fabricated from the hide of some animal. The artifact in the Huldra's hands radiated a strange glamor as she brought it the table. Unraveling it slowly. A series of intricate circles and cryptic figures laid across the tapestry. “This, is the story of our Great Mother and the Five Heralds, before they entered the dream-world for enlightenment. Here,†Solvieg indicated to the the top edge of the circle. “Is our Great Mother. She was guided to that world by a golden spirit. When there, she conducted a portal that reinvigorated the youth of their bodies and minds. However-†Her fingers traveling down, she noted along the ripped edges of the parchment. “The rest of the story was lost three generations ago. It is possible that a few of the Wander Sect might have a written copy elsewhere, though it is not confirmed yet.â€Â
The assistant coiled the artifact back together before depositing into a metal tube for preserving it. Maria spoke. “We have acquired hundred of said writings of our ancestors, culminating in a wealth of history that is now slowly degraded by time. We would have preferred it to be etched into a more resilient substance, though some rumors mentioned the humidity and heat tolerance of your works. Only damage caused by a physical object seems to the most troublesome for you, am I correct, Leader?â€Â
By now, Mana returned from his board, still dabbing his face from his uneventful rejection. His priest beckoned him to come over, not yet finished in her offer. “I will let Mana finish the remainder of it, as these things tend to ease his heart some,†Maria confided to the Leader.
Grooming himself back into shape, Mana stood erect besides Maria, gesturing for both the Leader and Zila to listen. “Now, I haven't indulged as much research into the Draw directly as my fellow craftsmen had, though if you have any thoughts on these matters, then do mention them so." Mana breathed out. He took a large swig of sweet mead from a flask afterward, soothing his throat. Relieved, he continued.
"As Lady Maria has said, we are eager to reach out to other countries for alliances and trading partners. My older sister likely mentioned the demand to protect the legacy of the Huldrefolk. We also are fascinated by the acquisition of scarce resources and unusual technology. Including as well, methods of construction, defensive barriers, and potentially any other valuable skill or craft that could be exchanged.â€Â

Zila had been quiet for most of this exchange, after having invited the Huldrefolk to state their purposes and had been listening politely the whole time. Howeer, she visibl gained a lot more interest when they mentioned their lost history and listened a lot more deeply. The Reptiloid gestured Vis, who lowered his head ob his long neck so that she could whisper into his ear, then interjected a sharp comment into hers before she nodded and then put both hands on the table as she stood "Excuse us for a minute, I need to converse with my staff"
She got up and walked over to the others-Crocodilian, Tuataran, one who sported a shell on his back of the Tortoises, another Serpentine and another of the Lizards-this one, a male that sported spines from the top of his head down his back all had to have a conversation with each other in low voices, whilst each one took turns looking back at the table to make sure they didn't miss what had been going on.
Eventually, a consensus appeared to be decided upon and Zila and Vis both returned back to the table, Vis with a slightly more sour look to his snake like face, as Zila cleared her throat still stood up, "Maria, history is an important aspect of our society, as it appears to be in yours. We are sorry to hear about your woes finding your lost history due to to the decay of you recording methods. We would propose a solution. In our sulture it's not unheard of for one Clan to visit another in a kind of cultural exchange programme. But in your case we would propose that we Reptiloids send a member from each of our groups to go and live your kind permanently. You have heard of our genetic memory abilities? If one of us were to shadow your people, you would never lose any part of your history again. Even if your recording methods were lost or destroyed sometime in the future, one of us would be able to recall exactly what had happened using our abilities to call upon ancestral memory. It would strengthen ties between our two peoples and be mutually beneficial, wouldn't you say?"

"I'm sorry! It wasn't my intent to offend. In fact, that's the exact opposite of what I was aiming to do by refusing your gift. I thought accepting it without offering anything of my own to be rude." The Leader of the Draw explained, caught off guard by their emotion.
"But I see now perhaps we can help. It is certainly within our means to reproduce the story of your people. In fact, if we were introduced to this 'wandering sect' a small exploratory group may be able to jump through their records and locate the rest of it easily."
"As for storage blueprints... what exactly is it you want to store?"

"Excuse us for a minute, I need to converse with my staff."
Skathi perked up when she saw the Reptiliods amassed together. While being a known as war hawk to her people, many still uphold her suspicions on the matters of foreigners. She etched her own notes in their native language during the huddle. Where the aunt shoved the message to Maria underneath the table. Curious, the priest sent another branch to decipher the writing, muffling a gasp that nearly breached her lips. <small><small>"Are, you sure... Even if that... Still?"</small></small>
The mature Huldra glared back at her niece, answering her question nonverbally. Years of experience forged a distrust in neighboring factions in the hidden grove, the majority proving regrettable as hundreds died through poor decision making. The two adjusted her focus on the Reptiliods, who just finished the discussion.
Listening to the proposition, polar tempers served alternative views to Zila. "Oh, my! That sounds delightful; don't you think, Solveig" Her assistant signaled her approval of said idea. "Members of each clan, coming to together to assist those in need, reminds me of my mother's stories. Such... beauty..." Pure blithe poured out from the optimists, clearly in agreement to the proposal.
"Do not be in such haste, my dear niece. You do recall that the elders mentioned that I have oversight in your negotiations, right?"
Weary at the reminder, the two young Huldre watched as Skathi revised her stance for the Moot. She pilfered Carl's chair right from under him, departing the grumpy Huldu of his seat. Cramming it between Solevig and Maria, she intervened in the conversation, stern eyes crisp in resentment. "Our kind has been quite reticent in the past five generations, only divulging treasured inlet with trusted coalition. Your consideration appears genuine off a grazing glance; however, we have to tread lightly on such an exchange."
Handing a file to Zila, Skathi gestures her to read the document as she talked. "Due to isolation, very few outsiders are aware of the capital's position on any map of Pax. It is carefully hidden in the leaves to detour aggressors from raids to pitfalls and plethora of other traps. January 22nd of the current year: traveling bands of merchants discovered livestock in one of our sanctuaries. Whether by chance or informants, <big>seventy percent</big> of the bovine were hauled off during the day. A few of us managed to capture a few of the humans before the party departed the woods. Currently, they are under arrest for now." Gritting of wooden by her nails creaked out.
"Because of these onsets, several Huldre of the Wattle sect have erected defensive walls around surrounding outposts. To suggest members of your kind to reside in our abodes is unacceptable at the numbers you mentioned. Rectifying this, a Huldre from each of our five sects must be exchanged as well. As Maria said, harmony is essential to peace."
The priest relaxed at the ending note. She faced Zila with a meager smile, understanding the position. "She is quite right, though please, forgive her reluctance of strangers," Maria apologized to the Reptilioids.
"I'm sorry! It wasn't my intent to offend. In fact, that's the exact opposite of what I was aiming to do by refusing your gift. I thought accepting it without offering anything of my own to be rude."
Spirits raised, Mana attempted to speak back to the Draw, but Skathi seemed to become to impatient at waiting for the Huldu's response. "Oh, don't bother. Mana is far too kind to hold grudges over someone so humble. As for the 'wandering sect'..."
Beckoning Carl to her, the massive humanoid sneered at the woman. A harsh kick to the cranium settled his disputes with her, rubbing his temple as her walked up to the Draw. "The Wander sect are a resilience bunch, renown in the Huldrefolk for adaptability and heightened regenerative abilities. He, Carl, will guide you to an active site housing a couple Huldre that are well antiquated to obscure battles that have yet to be recorded."
"In regards to what we plan on storing: food, raw materials, property and wealth are the most obvious ones. Vandals, thieves, arsonists, and so on; require a well-sound facility to house them prior their possible release. Not to mention, those have been quarantined by aggressive diseases."

Zila grinned even after the aunt's interjection, the Reptiloid leaned forward eagerly 'One of each of our groups, for one of each of yours. We have five, and so do you. That is acceptable. Do you agree?"
The Moot
"Five, isn't that so? Apparently someone around here cannot count." Skathi's fingers drummed on the table. The assistant leaned off her seat a bit, feeling queasy for her mistake this morning. "It can be quite difficult to find reliable help, though I'm sure at least five competent Huldrufolk will be obliged to be part of the cultural exchange program. Maria, if you please."
Abdicating from Carl's seat, she strolled over by the wall to stretch. Maria, now tith her frieghtening aunt bored, continued the conversation. "Yes, after a break, I will relay the message back to my country." Tilting her head aside, she notified the guys. "Could you finish the dealings with The Leader? There is one more thing I would like to ask of Reptiliods."
"There is... a problematic situation which... given the history of your people, might have some knowledge at dealing with," she whispered to Zila.

"Preferably, I rather not involve the other representatives unless you feel it demands their attention," she hinted at the reptiliod. Despite the implications of excluding them, the huldra rather deal with their resentment compared to drawing them needlessly into a situation that would prove greater harm than good. Zila's kind seems to be the best side to turn to.
"There is a room adjacent we can converse in. Whether you prefer us to bring our staff is under your discretion."

Zila tapped on the table twice, before getting up and inclining her head to the Serpent deputy. Without a word, Vis dipped his own head and sat down
"Apologies.. My deputy will take my place whilst I attend to this" The Reptiloid stated, before moving into the enclosed side room

"As would you, Skathi. If you don't mind that is."
"Not all. Seeing you eventually decided to talk about that, my business here is actually worth something."
Having been said, Maria rose out from her seat, allowing her aunt to occupy the presence for the time being. A frightening grin ascended in her smile. For whatever reason by the intrigue in the situation, Skathi savored the sensation creeping through her being. The assistants near her leery at her predatory look.
Inside the room, sat down in a chair beside Zila. In her arms, several documents, scrawled in intelligible letters, were laid out on the table. "The Draw are inept in dealing with three-dimensional plane; The Quetza Empire might call out my warning as fear-mongering tactics to subdue the other representatives; and the New Terran Republic would be equally likely to either exploit the problem or risk their entire people's lives. Your kind shows the best comprehension in inter-species affairs. The... entities the Huldrafolk coped with for a few months... are not..."
