Hey everyone!
I've got somewhat of an interesting... something for you guys. Well, I've been back playing Minecraft again, and on my new favorite vanilla server, I was actually approached by the server admin late at night a couple days ago. He was working on setting up a new Minecraft game type, based of the game Day Z.
Now, I'm not sure if you have heard of Day Z, but basically it's a realistic zombie survival game, made by a team modifying the engine of a shooter.
Anyway, back to point.
He asked me to test the game out while it's being worked on, and I have, eventually leading up to tonight when we were testing a pretty much stable beta version. We got a bit off track with creative mode in the world, and I ended up finding the book writing options, so we toyed with the idea of having a couple findable journals for the players. Just to add a bit of depth between, well... running for your life.
So, to you guys. I know we're all writers here, and while I was already working on some logs of my own, I thought maybe I might as well throw it out to you guys. If you are feeling creative, and want something you wrote in a game, here's your chance. I'm going to submit a batch when I finish, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind having a few extra stories to pad it out.
So basically, if you are itching to write a couple two-three paragraph logs of your life before the dead started rising, you totally can! I think he wanted mostly before stuff, laced with suspicion of what is to come. I'm sure a couple crazier journals of madmen seeing the walking dead would be fine too.
Or you know. You could talk about your socks. That's what normal people write about isn't it?
Anyway, post here with your journal entries if you are interested!
