Magic Tech High NPC Roll Call

There are a lot of NPCs in Magic Tech High since it is supposed to be a school full of students, so whenever you create a student (ie: not a teacher or anybody else) NPC that you'd be fine with anyone using place them here. Students will require a slightly altered character sheet, but won't require as much detail as a normal character would.

I know that this might be a pain for some of you but I really think that this will help us all to keep track of each NPC and to better control them as we share them between one another.

Race: Kerluck

Appearance: Krii is an avian humanoid, essentially having a human-like body with a bird-like head, with skin that's covered in feathers and talons instead of hands. His plumage is a mostly brown with several yellow streaks, made from a special dye worn by young Kerluck's who leave their homes - as Krii is from the Yellow Moon Clan, his streaks are yellow. His beak is mostly black, with some yellow at the base. His large eyes are also yellow, and tend to appear bright and inquisitive most of the time. He has a small crest of extra feathers towards the back of his head.

His physical build is not too different from a human teenager - a little lanky, but he'll probably grow into it eventually. He typically wears a traditional Yellow Moon Clan robe, which is mostly white, save for a black strip up the centre which has a yellow crescent on it. He's never seen without a small feathered talisman around his neck (a gift from his parents).

Abilities: Krii has an ancestral ability that his people call "the hunter's stare". By focusing his concentration, Krii can look at you in such a way to induce a mild form of hypnosis. Those who see the stare will feel curious and compelled to approach him... but it is just compulsion, and not entirely difficult to break free from for most intelligent creatures. It comes from his people's origins as predators, who used this ability to lure hapless prey towards them with ease.

Personality: Krii is a friendly and upbeat individual, always trying to keep the peace and encourage others to see the brighter side of things. He is a very social creature, just as keen to make a new friend as he is to chat with an old one. He tries hard to apply himself in his studies and, being reasonably intelligent, tends to do quite well most of the time. He is very proud of his homeworld and his heritage, both of which are topics that he will happily talk about at any opportunity, and he hopes to follow in his parents footsteps and become a diplomat when he gets older.

History: Krii was born on the Yellow Moon orbitting the Kerluck Homeworld. He grew up very well off, for both his Ma'er (mother) and Pa'er (father) are high-ranking diplomats, and so it was only natural that he attend one of the finest private schools around. He enjoyed school, made lots of friends and did quite well. His parents hoped that he would go on to follow in their footsteps and become a diplomat, and as such they felt that he would benefit from a foreign education, so when the time came for Krii to go to high school he found himself enrolled in Magic Tech High.

Gender: Female

Age: 15

Race: Naga

Appearance: Natanga is tall and serpentine, with a humanoid upper body that tapers off into a snake-like torso and tail. She's quite vividly coloured, a lovely mixture of red and purple hues, which are typical for young female Naga. She wears a tank top and not much else, but it doesn't seem like she really needs to. This image should give you a good idea what she looks like, minus the jewellery.

Abilities: Natanga's tail is incredibly musclular, capable of wrapping about prey and crushing it with ease, though her humanoid half is not nearly so strong. She's venomous, as most female Naga are, though her venom is unusually weak due to a genetic defect - rather than killing prey, her venom is only just enough to distort and confuse it for a few minutes. She has some proficiency with magic, but she's not terribly skilled with it just yet, as until very recently magic of any kind was outlawed on her homeworld.

Personality: Natanga is rather aloof and often unfriendly - she does not get along easily with others and has a nasty habit of judging others before meeting them. She is not entirely impossible to get along with however, and she does earnestly want to learn and enjoy her time at Magic Tech High, she just needs a little more time than most to get used to new people. She's very moralistic and always believes in doing the right thing by others - never tell secrets and never tell lies are two rules she refuses to compromise for any reason.

History: Natanga was born in a time of civil war. As a child she was very weak by Naga standards, and both of her parents were off fighting in the rebellion, so she spent much of her childhood in hiding with her grandfather. It wasn't until the war ended that Natanga found out that her parents died an entire year before. Natanga's grandfather, an ancient and feeble man, had known of her parents' deaths the whole time, but he had decided not to tell her until the war ended because he was afraid that she would want to join the war to avenge them. In his old age he would not have been able to stop her, and with her weak constitution she would surely be killed. Feeling hurt and betrayed, Natanga immediately took advantage of the new governments' exchange program, designed to boost relations with planets and governments that the Naga Homeworld had previously been giving a hard time or ignored entirely, to travel to Pax and enrol in Magic Tech High.

Race: Human descended from Panthera Leos (Lion) Beastmen

Appearance: Due to Klay's clan being bred out, he appears to look like a human. He's slightly taller than an average human of his age, has fairly short blond hair though he has bangs and usually wakes up with bad bed hair and dark brown eyes which occasionally have a golden glint to him when he get surprised or angry. His skin is pale because despite the many hours in the sun playing around and keeping fit, his skin doesn't tan and it always feels soft (almost like fur). On the back of his left wrist is a burn in shape of a cross (looks like this), but it's usually hidden under something like a watch, clothes etc. so. The only qualities he has that suggests he's not an average human is his pointier canine teeth, the occasional golden glow in his eyes and despite is non-threatening appearance, he posses the strength of a lion.

His usual attire is either gym clothes (track suits/ tank top and shorts) or casual clothing (jeans and long sleeved shirts/t shirts). He's used to warmer climates so only cooler days he'll be likely to wear a jacket or coat even if no one else does.

(Without the skull jacket, that's what he looks like. )

Abilities: Klay possesses the strength of a lion which means that he has a lot of force behind both his arms and his feet. He was trained in various styles of fighting within his clan to harness that power and restrain his young temper, but dislikes using this power unless there is a reason for him to do so. On top of that, he is able to see almost perfectly in the dark. He is rather unskilled in magic so he prefers to rely on technology.

Personality: On the surface, Klay appears to be a friendly, outgoing human being who is willing to make friends with everyone. He's always willing to lend a hand to those who need help and can work well in groups of people. He used to have a bad temper when he was younger, but he's grown out of it now with the help of training. Although he doesn't mind the occasional good joke, he doesn't appreciate pranksters and he will be in a foul mood for awhile if someone plays practical jokes on him. He is very loyal towards those he likes and openly honest which can lead to a few problems as he's occasionally too blunt with his words and has a problem stopping himself from saying too much. However, he's an intelligent young man and he's fairly easy to get along with.

History: The Leos clan is on the outskirts of a colony filled mostly with human beings. Before the colony was introduced, many Panthera beastmen clans were gathered there and coexisted peacefully. However, slowly the beast-like humans were killed out or forced to breed with human beings. Hybrids slowly became more and more human with little to distinguish themselves from those who resided in the colony, but the Leos Clan and a few smaller clans stuck together to prevent blood ties from completely dying so some of the human descendants look more like Lion beast men than others.

From a young age, Klay was taught to control the temper that came with being part of the Leos Clan and because he was one of the few in his clan without any whiskers, tails, claws or lion ears, he was sent to the human colony to coexist with human beings. The cross burned into his left wrist is a sign that he was "purified" by a priest of the colony. It is a ritual that all children from outsider beastmen clans must go through before interacting with normal human beings. Due to his intelligence, affinity with technology and unique lineage, he was offered the chance to go travel to Pax and enrol in Magic Tech High. He hopes to return to his clan with knowledge that will benefit them in their struggle to keep themselves isolated from the main colony.

Appearance: Trinrst, like most of his kind, looks like a large snake with the back half of their body and tail used to hold up the the top half and slither along the ground. Tezca also possess two pairs of thin, sinuous arms-one pair at the shoulders and another pair lower down (roughly around the 'chest' area if you're wondering or having difficulty), these arms give way to hands with three long thin digits on each, ending in tiny claws. Their heads are more like a long snakes head than anything else, even with the clear scale that covers their eyes in place of eyelids, making it impossible for them to blink. Trinrsts eyes are bright yellow and slitted, he wears no clothing and is currently more thin than muscular. The only thing he really carries around with him is a small green backpack-for keeping schoolwork and notes in.

Abilities: Trinrst, like all Tezca, possesses a pair of large hinged fangs that rest on the roof of their mouths when not being used. The fangs are effectively long, thin hypodermic needles that inject a neurotoxin into prey or enemies. Trinrst can swim almost as well as he slithers along the ground, and his scales change colour to indicate his emotions. Trinrst also has something of a talent for magic, along with the ability to answer questions without actually answering anything, whuch has more to do with his family.

Personality: Trinrst is excessively polite to most new people he meets, often up to the point of annoyance. His father is a politician and became leader of their people shortly after negotiating an alliance with most other species that border their part of space against a common enemy. So, Trinrst attempts to do his best to to get along with everyone, though he's not yet quite as good at manipulating his scales or being diplomatic as he'd like to be. Only two things can really get on Trinrsts nerves-those are quarreling for no apparent reason, especially about little disagreements, and talking casually about slavery. Usually, though, Trinrst does his best to be on his best behaviour and attempt to think of ways to help others who don't quite seem to 'gel' well together.

History: Trinrst is the result of a union between his mother Nrenth, who operates one of the largest space stations in Neutral territory around, and his father Teesn, who is a well respected politician, diplomat and leader of their people. Trinrst hatched on the space station, where his mother taught him about respecting different species and cultures, then when he was old enough his father would take him on trips to visit all the homeworlds and colonies around. Here Trinrst learned that you don't always have to give in to get what you want, he also learned-fortunately or unfortunately-how to answer questions without actually answering them. On the one visit to his own homeworld Trinrst changed even more, becoming less childishly enthusiastic about all the planets in the multiverse and more focussed on keeping his fathers work alive and well when he grows up and takes his place in the politics. He was enrolled in Magic Tech High because of the large numbers of multicultural, multispecial students attending there and away from the often bewildering political climate that pervades his 'home', which Trinrst counts as the station and the space which they all share, rather than any planet or colony within it.

Race: ???/Magma Demon

Appearance: Flaera has bright orange skin and is fairly small, currently standing at around five feet. She has two pairs of small horns on top of her head, the tips of which are slightly on fire, and also has curly, bright orange hair that reaches to her shoulders. Flaeras arms are quite muscular, with four digited hands ending in something more akin to talons than fingernails or claws. Flaeras feet also end in taloned toes, and her legs are double bent with the ankle joint high up off the floor (like a theropods legs), so she's effectively always walking on her toes. Flaera has a pair of large, leathery wings tightly folded onto her back, but no tail. Her eyes are slitted and very odd in that the slit pupil is white whilst what 'should' be the whites around them are black. Flaeras face is mostly humanoid-except for the many sharp white fangs that are proudly shown off whenever she smiles.

Abilities: Flaera can fly, although it's not yet perfect. She has some control over fire, including making fireballs with her hands, as well as being immune to the effects of burning or high heat, and takes no damage from acid. She also finds what most would call disgusting or unpleasant smells enjoyable-such as the smell of sulphuric fumes or burnt flesh. People who deal with this particular entity should also be careful of making promises or deals with her-as bad luck has a habit of following those around who do so and then break their word.

Personality: Despite what she is, Flaera is rather a cheerful-if sarcastic, individual. She's also rather naiive and is not quite used to being around other species, often offering them things that would be harmful due to her lack of personal experience with them. She takes offence rather easily, especially when offering her fellow students things that are completely normal to her but may injure or kill whoever she is talking to.

History: Flaera grew up in another realm entirely, on the shore of a large sulphuric lake near a temperamental volcano. So, she rather enjoys the smell of sulphur and lava as it reminds her of her home. Her home is a large mansion type building that sits right near the edge of the sulphur lake, giving a good view of a 'muted' sun through the ever present gloom of the ever present clouds and vapours that cover the sky. The mansion is not only massive, but full of rooms with deadly playful tricks, traps and puzzles contained in the quarters not used for living, which Flaera spent many, many long days of her childhood exploring and indeed still does, as she hasn't yet managed to explore them all. Her father is usually busy with contracts of beings from other realms as well as their own, so he mostly left her to it. However her father never missed the larger eruptions of the volcano and would take Flaera out with him to enjoy the rain of molten rocks. The mansion is called 'The House of Krazz', which is engraved on the stone archway that ominously leads inside the dwelling, though visitors from other realms must use a portal there which does not take them to the outside of the mansion, but a very large room on the inside instead.

Flaeras family is very old and powerful, so she got born into wealth made before her father had even started his secret business, and so she doesn't have to worry about paying to go to Magic Tech High-it was all taken care of long ago. Her father sent her there in the hopes that she will learn how better to handle herself around mortal and immortal beings from other realms, as well as learning more about them. Flaera never met her mother, and even up til this point in time has no idea who or what she was.
